This pic appears in a recent New York Times article, showing a bullpup I don't recognize in the hands of pro-government militias.

I'm almost completely sure this isn't a French FAMAS. The carry handle, sights, muzzle, cheek rest and forearm are all wrong.

It seems to share some characteristics with the G36 in terms of aesthetics, and I know for a fact that the German military has supplied G36's to Kurdish forces in the region, but I digress.

Here's the image.

What do you guys think?

looks like the French FAMAS

The V1 of this really looks like a FAMAS.. the V2's at least have some of their own personality. I remember a few years ago we were talking about the V1's but the company weren't making any exportable civvy models (or something along those lines) so it was another no-go for us Canucks; I'm assuming this iteration will be no different, but it's a pretty cool looking system!

Edit: Here was an older post on these...

For a minute I thought they were T97's with the DIY Flat top upper that a member posted a few weeks ago, LoL.

Anyone aware of that thread?
