Unreal! Where do I sign up?! Deer Cull with Headshots only!

The amount of ignorance displayed on this post boggles my mind. As soon as Parks Canada is mentioned, all the liberal bashers start frantically typing, despite the fact that this project was being planned before the election. I live on Haida Gwaii. I know personally many of the people involved with this project including Parks organizers, shooters, support crews. I know most of the local hunters who were hired and I know the onsite butcher and the people processing the meat. I’ve met the kiwis who were hired to share their expertise. I also am very familiar with the Islands where this cull was being done and I have to laugh at all of you who think you know what you are talking about. These islands are some of the most remote in Canada. It is not cheap to execute a cull there. Nobody hunts there EVER because it is too remote. The Haida are allowed to shoot pretty much anything that isn’t human without limits on Haida Gwaii. For the rest of us it is 15 deer per year. It is a venison free for all. No one needs to go to Ramsay Island (which is steep as #&@%) to hunt. Many locals were involved, many Haida were involved. And 4 or 5 New Zealanders who are professional deer cull specialists were involved. I wonder how many of you could keep up with them and their dogs over Ramsay Island. It is clear that most of you are too blinded with hated towards the government to even try to see this project objectively.

I'm not sure when it was planned, or by which government, so maybe you can enlighten us?

I don't care if it was liberals, but it's nicer to bash them if it was.

Lived there and hunted there also, didn't go to all the little islands, but if they are like the rest, there is no way that what is proposed will get done. There is nearly always a better way; particularly when government is involved.

Let us know in a century or 2 and a billion dollars later whether it worked.
