Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Good point guys! Not sure the ON CFO does "batch" transfers, but you're right that it would speed up the process if they did. In my case I have TEN transfers pending! If they did them in one batch, it's ONE check... If they do them in the order received, they repeat the process OVER & OVER again as they land on each of my transfers... Very inefficient if that's what they are doing.

Cheers

Seems like there’s A LOT of people waiting on multiple transfers, it also seems ridiculous and especially inefficient for the CFO to not process all pending transfers for a given PAL holder as they go. One would think that would speed up clearing the back log considerably.
Ugh, government ineptitude is f’ing frustrating.

Anyone here got a batch transfer approval?

Apparently, BC is doing them. Our Ontario back log can be cleared up much faster! I have many transfer #s starting from June 18 to July 18!

Sent just now to: https://correspondence.premier.gov.on.ca/en/feedback/default.aspx

To Premier Ford,

I amongst many other Ontario citizens are waiting for firearms to be transferred at the Chief Firearms Office. I was told today that the processing time is approximately three months. This is absolutely unacceptable. I am CPIC'd every single day in order to maintain my license. What is the hold up? Ontario was unreasonably slow prior to the surge in purchases after the federal government announcement, but now this is ridiculous. I was also told that transfers are being processed in the order in which they were received. This seems inefficient considering a large number of clients have more than one transfer on the go; why not complete the entire batch for one client as they process in order? This would save a huge pile of time and precious financial resources. In my particular instance processing my transfers all at once would save 6 different sets of transactions and reviews. I have been waiting since June 2. It is now July 21. Please get something in place to get things moving! Time is absolutely of the essence given what lies ahead for those of use that are law-abiding firearms owners!

I have already written about this once and have not received a response, nor seen any processing improvements.

Regards,

Not sure if it will help....

Another data point (dealer-to-ON transfer)

You will receive a big long email asking for more information, with one key sentence at the bottom:

"Please be aware that given our Office’s role and function, we are unable to speed up, or otherwise change the prioritization of your CFO transfer application."

So other than showing a large group of citizens upset, it will not speed up our transfers. Still important to do it so they understand that we are not happy.

It may not speed up your transfer in particular by bringing focus to your particular situation (aka skip the line), but with lots of people complaining there's a chance it'll speed up everyone's in general (aka make the line move faster).

Absolutely. I am one hundred percent OK waiting my turn in line, however once my first transfer comes up, there should be no more need to revisit my other transfers later. Do them all at the same time then move on. Everyone's should be sped up by this process change, if they were to implement it.

For sure mactroneng! The last time I had a few transfers in the CFO office, I phoned and the nice officer sad that she would approve all of my transfers at once....skip to now and something has torturously changed for the worse! I am curious how many of us have complained to Ombudsman and Premier? Hope enough to get some attention!

This whole situation reminds me of story my uncle told me many years ago, hope I do not gut it as english is not my first language :

There was a ruler in medieval time and he wanted to test the patience of his subjects. He asked his wise advisor to come up with an idea for his plan. Advisor said I have an idea, let's limit the access to wells and every family is only allowed to get one bucket of water at a time.

People lined up everyday with their bucket, filled up the bucket and carried it back home. In the monthly town hall meeting, the ruler asked if there were any complaints, and nobody complained.

Ruler went back to his advisor and asked if any other ideas, and he said how about to get a bucket of water they need to bend over and get f..ed in the a…. Ruler said great idea, let's do it.

People lined up again, pulled their pants down, and bent over before getting their water.

Next town hall ruler again asked, any complaints? After a minute of silence an old man raised his hand, and the ruler asked him to come forward and let him know what the issue is? The old man came forward and asked, can you please increase the number of people who f..k us so we do not have to stand in the line up for this long.

This is the best analogy on what is happening right now with CFO ontario! I think many of us are panic buying and buying for the future, like myself and wanting this process to speed up. I hope there will be change for the better in the future. In the meantime, for those who want more handguns and it maybe our last chance. Obviously, a grim thought. The next step is a ban like ARs and then confiscation. I'm sure our dear leader is thinking like that. But would he do it? Handgun owners is not a fringe minority category.

I am currently trying to get ahold of the clan at Miramichi to see what the update is with my transfer with G4C Sports. I made my purchase on May 31st and transfer was initiated on the 6th of June. no update VIA G4C as per shipment or successful transfer. I'm not one of those people who get uptight and strung out over something like this, but over 8 weeks is an absolute joke. Sadly I am one of those fools who is adding to the call time waitlist line up. I knew I should have ordered from ANY other province! Hahaha. *shrugs*:evil::evil:

Send an email to your provincial CFO. They answer fast.
