Asking because I am uncertain. Are individual to individual transfers completed faster than business to individual?
Good day Premier Ford,
I'm a long time Conservative and Ford voter and I want to draw your attention to serious wastage and lost efficiency at the Ontario CFO office. I am referring specifically to Ontario employees that have to perform a necessary step in the transfer of certain firearms, and not the federal firearms program. These inefficiencies are making a 5 or 10 minute job last for months on end.
Since the Prime Minister announced recent gun control changes, the volume of applications to transfer firearms at the Ontario CFO has increased tenfold. All provinces except QC and ON have adopted no-cost efficiency measures to deal with this surge in demand. These include things like processing all pending transfer applications for an individual, whenever that person's file is reviewed for a transfer.
Instead, in Ontario, the civil servants process each transaction in isolation. With the current volume, that means each applicant needs to be re-reviewed multiple times when there are multiple pending transactions. Conservatively, processing these in batches would result in a three-fold increase in processing efficiency. The CFO, of course, is only interested in protecting jobs and workload and won't take these suggestions from us clients.
I am appealing for your help to be an agent of change, as I know you want Ontarians to have the same level of service that other Canadians enjoy.
Respectfully,
Claven2

58955xx purchased June 2, transfer notice received today (Aug. 26)
Mine is 58954 and I haven't heard anything. Been checking my spam folder for days.
Ontario data entry point.
Buisness transfer.
58954XX. Initiated June 2. Approved 1430 today Aug 25.
Order was placed with SFRC at like 4am on June 2nd so would have been put through roughly 9am when they came into work
you got a Reference # not a transfer![]()
APPROVED: 59453xx private purchase initiated June 20, 2022 and I got through for my part June 21, 2022. I just received confirmation from the seller that the gun is in the mail with a confirmation number.
I was going by your spreadsheet Wolf, which showed this should be approved between Mar 21 and Mar 29, 2023. Wolf this is really going to skew your results. I am still scratching my head. I really won't believe it until the gun is in my hand. Some how it must have fallen through the cracks to the top of the pile. Of course no word on the other one I purchased the same day and others later.
I am going out now to buy a lottery ticket.
Please elaborate - how did you get to know transfer reference numbers for the snail mail initiated? Called, got through and asked? as a seller or as a buyer? tnx
