Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

I'm sincerely curious: What exactly is it that you think a nefarious actor could do with 2/3 of a random transfer number, with no other information whatsoever about the buyer, the seller, or the actual gun itself?
The concern I've seen most often is that the government is going to reference that number against your online handle. If you provide 5 significant digits, then there are only 100 possible transfers in the set. Add in that many people have their city in their profile and that we're in the Ontario only thread it narrows that 100 even further.
Sounds more like paranoia to me. If the government is that interested in you that they are going to go through the process of matching you via a transfer number and an online gun forum, they already have deep eyes on you via traditional methods.
I can maybe see leaving the last 2 off but realistically you could list the whole number without a lot of concern. Everything is already known by the $15 per hr store staff who fed it into the system.

It’s a private transfer, so it’s not only my information attached to that number, but another private citizen as well.
The government knows all about what restricteds I own and what I am waiting for, where I live and where I work and so on.
I just don’t understand the pushback on here. I’m not a tinfoil guy, I am just wary of providing too much information about myself and potentially other people in a public forum.
I will wait patiently for my transfers and let you all know when they arrive.

I have been calling cfo all morning.
I finally have been put on hold with a calling agent. I don't want to hang up but by chance have they directed me somewhere else by mistake. The message intermittently says all of our call agents are busy please hold or call back later. Am I almost in que to get someone!?

Yes, you are in the que. Do not hang up.
They may take a while but they will answer you unless it goes past the 4:30 pm closing time.
The message you do not want to hear is "we cannot answer your call, leave a message".

Thank you...finally some progress again
I’ve been calling all morning trying to complete buyer side of private restricted sale. It’s infuriating. Line just disconnects randomly after approx 10-30 minutes
English line not accepting calls anymore…
So I’m selecting the French line…
But the recordings they play are so bloody loud, with silence in between, so I can’t work while I wait or, if I lower volume I risk missing the agent if they answer…
Why does this even need to be done over the phone anyways!?
I swear they’re doing this by design to drive us all nuts lol
