Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Not going to lie, very jealous. I understand PR's side of it, but you figure with the revolvers sitting there for 5 months, maybe they take time to get shipments ready ahead of time. Again I don't know any details of how things run there, and don't want to bash them, I think they are a great retailer, but 2 more weeks may kill me haha.
If you think of it and the number of guns sold especially to Ontario. PR was one of the few that held out restocking and selling right tot the last day so I would venture to say the sold a shiiit lot of guns.

So if they have even a work load of a hundred a day to confirm, check, package and then ship, along with continuing to do their normal business running up to the Xmas season, it is going to take some time to do that.

2 weeks seems like a long time but if that is what it is then that is what it is. I have one that will be coming from PR in the future. Knowing it may take a couple weeks to get it sent once it is approved is frustrating but as long as they have dotted all the Is and crossed all the Ts to get me the gun I ordered then ....

I have a pistol coming from PR too and the prospect of an extra couple of weeks after the transfer's approved doesn't bother me. Unlike some Ontario based dealers, PR initiated the transfer immediately and wasn't gouging on prices. They've also been advertising for a salesperson on their website for some time so may be undestaffed.

If I'm that impatient I can always go to Lloydminster and pick the gun up but February is not the ideal time of the year to visit that part of the world. ;)

I got this email this morning from the CFO after I inquired about my Ref # 59600XX transfer Bus to Priv:

Thank you for your email.
Your transfer is assigned to the CFO for processing. Our records show the transfer was initiated July 5, 2022.
The Chief Firearms Office is currently processing transfer application from early July. At this time, we are unable to provide a timeline due to the amount of transfers received since May 31, 2022. You will be advised via email upon completion.
The regulatory provisions announced on October 21, 2022 regarding restricted handgun transfers does not apply in respect of any application for the transfer of a handgun that was submitted before the entry into force of this regulatory amendment”, i.e., that was submitted by 2400 hrs on the day before the new regulations entered into force which was October 21, 2022.
Thank you for your patience as we process the high volume of transfers.

I would expect to see that approved after that email? Maybe check IWS to see if they realized their mistake.

15 July purchase. 59701xx. Just received the notice a moment ago Dec 9. Apologies. Update the ref number as I had copied it wrong. Same purchase date however. It is correct now.
