Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

A guy at my range said the Ontario CFO office is back to full-time now, we'll see if this is true and/or if the situation improves. I have a transfer pending but can't remember when exactly it started.

Agreed that they are not likely working OT but the emailing system is delayed is way more probable.

Yesterday at noon I called for an ATT that I needed for something. A very nice lady on the phone processed it, and said she clicked the button and I should get it any moment, but to be aware the emailing system is sometimes delayed. Well, I received the ATT in the email at 3am, which is about 15 hours later.

They can also give you the ATT number over the phone. Police just access the ATT via the reference number.

The friendly lady I spoke with on the phone the other day said things are getting better, and I received a somewhat vague “couple weeks” , to which I replied “anything less than 12 is great with me!”

based on a transfer started when? should i start making ammo for the pistol i bought july 17?

I wouldn't quite yet. I called spoke to a CFO staff member at 2 PM today to check on a few transfers and my June 3rd ones are assigned but not completed yet. I think you have a few weeks yet before yours is completed.

I had to call twice today and to initiate and complete a transfer. Both people I talked to said they are aiming for 3 weeks to complete. I don't believe them for a minute but miracles do happen.

Here’s a transfer story and maybe some of you have a opinion on what’s going on. I have a transfer I started on March 29, 2020, I am the seller. It still hasn’t been completed. In the last month and a half I called twice and each time was told it’s being processed and call back in two weeks. Did that twice and both times told should be done soon call back in two weeks. Then two weeks ago a buddy was doing a transfer and he told the lady taking his info my story. She asked him for my name and number and said she would call me because that didn’t seem right. So she did call me and told her what was going on and she said that that didn’t make any sense and that she would call the Ontario cfo and I should expect a call from them. It’s now been another two weeks and nothing. Since then I’ve had four other transfers completed this week. I initially was wondering if there was something wrong with my licence but now that I’m starting to have other transfers approved, transfers that were started well after this March 29th one I’m wondering maybe if there is something wrong with the buyers licence. In all this time I have not heard from him other then about two months ago when I sent him a msg saying hey you might want to call them yourself to see what’s taking so long and he said I’m sure it will be done soon and left it at that. So at this point still waiting and wondering.

Well....I am still waiting on a transfer to me from AB...started April 12th......%$#$%^&&&&

just had a gunsmith to me consignment transfer complete...it started in May.

4 mos for a transfer.....its criminal...pretty surte if i took 4 mos to report my addy change or otherwise something Im legally obliged to adhere to Id be in hot water.
Because we're firearms owners we are trampled like this.....FFS

June 11 is a good sign. That would mean they’re only about 8 weeks behind now. Here’s to hoping they are working Saturdays. Someone above put it well, it’s criminal to provide this lacklustre service when the other provinces are able to process in 1-2 days.
