Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

First I gotta wait for the Walther P 99 AS to get restocked, then the reg. wait.:(

I just bought a P99AS two weeks ago today. I will update my wait time when i get info. Tried calling today a few times and keep hitting the "no agents avail, and hangs up". Trying to get into the waiting que.

I just called to complete a transfer, and it rang and rang. No answer.

Am I calling the right number? I've got 1-705-329-5522?

I called the 705 number to check a dealer transfer status and the lady told me that I need to call, 800-731-4000 ext-7503. She said grab a coffee, it will take a while. That number took a number of attempts to get into que. If it tells you all agents are busy and to hang up because it doesn't take message, call again and eventually you will get in line.

The ext. 7503 is for the Ontario CFO office. You shouldn't be calling there to complete a transfer. If you are waiting for a transfer and you'd like a status update then ok. To complete your half of a transfer dial 1-800-731-4000 then select 1, 4 and then 2 after the 45 seconds of introduction messages.

I've been told by a member I've bought from that he called today to do a transfer. The lady he spoke with said it's three weeks for completion. We were getting better, come on!

Really weird. Was waiting on a July 15 transfer, called shop no news. Then earlier in week I get the ownership in the mail, turns out it was approved 2 weeks ago, didn't notify anyone. Happy I got it, but that was weird.

I'd say the CFO office is somewhere between August 19 and the 26th as a week ago the 19th transfer was approved. Nothing still for the latter one (private NS to ON) and it's now been 16 days, taking one off for the long weekend I'm still at 15 days. Not looking good, perhaps the transfer times are increasing.

I just called to finalize a transfer and found out my aug 31 transfer was approved. Bought from my range, not sure if that’s considered business or private because it was a consignment.

I just called to check on the transfer from August 26 to find out it was approved and was done on the 10th! When I mentioned that I hadn't received an email notification the information officer goes "Oh you did ask for an email. Would you like me to send that to you now?". It's so comforting to see that even in pandemic times some things never change.

It's sad isn't it? You want to say to them "You had one job"

A note. That they dont always send those emails to the business that sold you the gun either. Sometimes the first info we have that the transfer is complete is the customer has recieved their cert in the mail. Which frustrates the business as much as the customer.
