Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Date modified: 2019-11-28
I thought the att was part of the licence for a few years now , why do people still call for one ?

I could be wrong as this is my first private transfer. But as per the RCMP webpage section 1.b.v I have to
  • The transferee will need to get an Authorization to Transport (ATT) to transport the restricted firearm to its new location. There is no fee for an ATT. Call the CFP at 1-800-731-4000 or submit form RCMP 5490.

When you sell a restricted and the transfer is completed you need an ATT to take it to the PO for shipping as the item in no longer registered to you. If the PO will pick it up from you, no need for the ATT.

Are any of you getting e-mails or are you calling in to find out? I asked for an e-mail but just read the above post where he called in even though he asked for e-mail and they told him it had been approved a few days earlier and they hadn't sent him anything.

I’ve been getting emails, never phoned a 2nd time to verify

my request was initiated on March 24, I called on March 26 asking for email notification when it's approved, the lady on the phone told me the official answer "10-15 business days". So I am going to wait for another week and call back if I don't hear anything.

I used to call in and inquire but was usually told it was in que and would be done as soon as they can, I figure calling all the time just slows things down. I gave them my email address at the time of transfer and they of course just sent the notification that way.
