Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Ontario private to private fastest ever. Seller initiated the transfer around 9:00 AM and I called in to confirm reference number at 10:30am. Received approval via email at 1pm, on the SAME day today October 13 2020. Couldn’t believe it. 2.5 hours!

Wow, I've never heard of a transfer that fast in Ontario! I hope you went out and bought a lottery ticket. Congrats on the quickest transfer I've heard of here.

I know we usually like to hear how long it takes to have a transfer approved in Ontario but I just did a trade in Alberta. I started it Friday morning first thing and the other member finished the transfer around noon. It was approved today just after noon in Ontario.

Now mine was started on Friday as well but I can guarantee it won't be that quick! A friend just had a transfer approved today that is for a purchase from BC that took two weeks.

Probably right...I just had an overnight express myself. Feels great after the 12 week fiasco.

I hope you're both right. I'd be thrilled if it was approved this week.

Update: The transfer was approved yesterday afternoon so just a little over two business days in total. I've never had a transfer so quick.

Apparently email notification must be requested every time a transfer is done. It is obviously too much trouble to create a default notification setting in the interface. Even though they have my email, the clowns sent it via snail mail. Fabulous customer service, right?!

It seems as if it's too hard. I have to usually request it but today both times I called they asked me. As you've said can't they just tick a box and it's set as my default?

The lady I had was awesome and told me she would sign me up for e-mail without me even asking. Started yesterday in Ontario to Ontario. Hoping that Wednesday or Thursday is when the transfer happens based on what I'm reading here. Last one was from a Business and it took almost six weeks. This one is from a private seller.
