Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Private transfer Alberta to Ontario: started Oct 26, approved Oct 27! Now that’s pretty good for our CFO.

Initiated Monday, Oct 26 at 3pm, received email notification for approval just now on Wednesday, Oct 28 at 8pm. Ont private to Ont private.

Just received my approval - 3 days!! Much better than 6 weeks like the last time.

A little disappointed, after reading people have been getting a couple days turnover for approvals.

This happened to me recently, last 2 weeks, neither business or I got the notification, it was only when the cert arrived in the mail could I pick it up. Transfer went through we just didn’t receive notice.

Is there a way to check online the status of a Business to Private transfer? Dealer supplied me a reference # but I have no idea where to look (or if I even can)

You have to call them with that reference #. No different if you were to check with a private - private sale

I initiated a transfer for a buyer in Quebec on Nov 12, he called in Nov 12, approved today - Nov 13

Forwarded the email to the CFO in ON today and got my ATT today.

I thought Quebec was going to be tough.
