Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Waiting since February 4th. Transfer from a business to myself in ON. Checked up on it and was told it can take 3 to 5 weeks.
Longest I have ever waited previously was 10 days. Oh well.

I sold a pistol to a fellow in Ontario and the transfer has so far been 10 days. The 2 previous transfers I did were less than 2 days. I questioned the CFO about this yesterday. Because the laws in Ontario are more stringent than the rest of the provinces Ontario transfers take at least 2 weeks or more. Just because it is going to a purchaser in Ontario. Hmmmmm..

Selling from BC to Ontario two weeks ago I had the transfer approval in 4 days, not bad for the Ontario CFO! Must be a new employee there that’s not on the “ let’s get nothing done program” , last transfer to Ontario was almost a month

ON to Quebec approved in 1 day.
ON to NB approved in 1 day.

Still waiting on the 2 ON to ON transfers from the 23rd and 26th.

The one from Feb 23rd approved today March 8,

9 or 10 business days depending on how you look at it.

Also in red lettering:

**Effective Immediately Transfer Notifications purpose is to take possession of a newly acquired firearm and no longer serves as a temporary Registration Certificate** // ** À compter de maintenant, les avis de cession ne doivent être utilisés qu’au moment de la prise de possession d’une arme à feu nouvellement acquise; ces avis ne sont pas des certificats d’enregistrement temporaires.**

Probably got tired of answering the same question a million times
