The way I see it if they were going to do an OIC why didn't they just do it back on May 30 or in June before parliament shut down for recess? Unless there are considerable amendments to other parts of the bill coming out of committee, doing an OIC a few days before it goes through the senate etc makes no sense. If it looks like it gets out of committee with few amendments it will be less than a week before it gets assent.
Ironically that should speed up the approvals of existing transfers since the phone-ins would be greatly reduced.
ah ok thank for that explanation, but I still wonder why he would go through the trouble of an OIC which can be a political football much like a US executive Order and overturned at the fall of a government. Unless there are considerable amendments to other parts of the bill coming out of committee, doing an OIC a few days before it goes through the senate etc makes no sense. If it looks like it gets out of committee with few amendments it will be less than a week before the whole C21 bill gets assent.They couldn't, the first day of possible OIC is Oct 4. The fact that this meeting was scheduled on the first possible day is no coincidence I don't think
Looks like Landsborough Auction moved up their Oct 6 Auction as well, I was wondering what was going to happen with that. They'll need to sell the guns then a few days to do transfers.
Transfer #59144XX was approved this morning! I sent an email this morning asking about my transfer. The Ontario CFO responded very politely that the transfer was approved. Unbelievable. 85 working days since the purchase date (June 4).

If you were following along with the transfers numbers, would see how close yours was to approval. Bombarding cfo with calls/emails just clogs their entire inefficient system.
At what point do I email or call them to ask about one of mine. It’s about 1000-2000 behind what people have been posting has been approved.
My snail mail registration for a Sept 1 approval took 3 weeks to the day. A mid May purchase took 2 weeks from a mid June approval, so expect at least 1 week additional delay from what you have experienced before.Also random question but how quickly are people getting their registrations? I am still waiting for one that was approved last week
@Conradshooter
I am looking at my spreadsheet and there is a 5912000 and 5910500 that I haven't seen as reported complete. There was a 5909600 and 5909730 that were completed on the 27th, surrounded by 24th and 25th completions along with your 5911000. There is a few in the 5194000 range that havent been reported back too.
What are the first 5 digits of your reference #?
Personally I am in the camp of fewer emails/phonecalls/distractions are better for the broken system we are enduring.
My first 2 approvals took 2-3 from what I can recall.
