So this 35 Remington has the same OAL as the 30-30, but can push a .358 220g jacketed bullet at 1900fps? Imagine what that would do to a deer or black bear, it would be bang flop bust out the skinning knife.

I am also partial to the Marlin Leverguns. I have 3 ATM.
1. 336A, 30-30, 24" half mag, etc. This rifle is astoundingly accurate,
often flirting with moa out to 200 meters or a bit more.
2. 336, 30-30 also, carbine. Almost as accurate as the A is. beauty rifle to carry.
3. 1893, 38-55 Winchester, manufactured as a 30-30 in 1906, but bore seriously
neglected. Had Ron Smith work his magic and rebored to 38-55. Nice compact
"thumper" for the bush. [255 grain Barnes original JFP at 1700 fps] Eagleye.

This one is a sweetie and shoots very well.
I have a couple sets of Fuddly hingie mounts left over
and one set will find its way on this gal.
Beside, them round knawbies izz awn the wrong side..........

Thanks! But I can't see the point of DOUBLE safeties? The half #### is there on the hammer, why do you 'need' the cross bolt? The way I see it, some day it will be ON and you will take aim on a buck, only for the gun to go CLICK instead of BOOM...

Picked up this 35 Remington last year but haven't had it to the woods yet. I picked up some hard to find Remington Core Lokt ammo and a set of dies,..so I'm all set to go. I'm really looking forward to sneaking around through the woods with this in hand next fall.

Thanks Jay,.....I haven't fired a shot out of it yet,.. just put the 1-4 Redfield on it a couple of weeks ago.. hoping it shoots well.

So... MAJOR update!!!

After MORE than 2 years of looking for a 1974 vintage Marlin 336 in 35 Rem (serial starting with 26****), I am happy to report that THANKS TO A CGN'er, I finally have one!!!

I just finished swapping the base/rings and scope off of my 1991 Marlin 336 in 35 Rem onto the 1974 and will be hitting the range this coming weekend!

EXCITED doesn't even describe how I feel right now!!! So thankful, so so so thankful!!!

And she came with a period correct catalog!!!

And my 1991 with the 1974 wearing a Leupold vari-x iii 1.5-5x20mm scope.
