Is there enough material on the rear sight to drill a peep sight instead of cutting a channel all the way down?
Carry options,
In the hand
With a single point quick detachable bungy sling
In a scabbard on or in a pack
The "gun bucket" style holster looks like a great option to have on your belt if you need to place the gun somewhere while using a camera, binoculars or rolling a smoke..... Looks pretty easy to make.
I'd angle the bucket a bit and wear it on the off side, cross draw like a sabre.

Drill a hole through the stock
Mount a sling loop to the stock with a screw
or put a piece of leather or thick woven nylon belt under the metal butt pad and hang it out the side you want to attach to......punch a nice grommet on their and you done.
I really do like the idea of that "gun-bucket" holster that Hungsolo mentioned and illustrated. I'd originally envisioned carrying the Ranch Hand when I was fishing on the fairly remote rivers around here (the Livingstone, the Oldman, the Castle), and in that case (for the walking in-and-out) I'd simply carry it in my hand or the side-sleeve of my daypack.
Onsite ... standing in or alongside the water ... the gun-bucket idea would seem perfect for keeping the firearm secure and readily available.
Until I fall in ... which inevitably happens ... and then I'd have to screw-up my courage/confidence and finally dis-assemble the thing!![]()
Hey All,
Here is a link to a .pdf file with a letter direct from the Firearms Centre and the NON-restricted classification of the Ranch Hands..

Hey Carverk,
"The leather holster I got for my Chiappa from Wanstall is very nice."
Yes ... I've seen pictures of it and it looks good. I didn't get one because I've already got a couple of items on the right-hand (strong side) of the Uncle Mike's gunbelt that I usually wear.
I liked the "gun bucket" idea because it provides a handy place (on the cross-draw side) to quickly stash the firearm when it's not in your hands ... as it probably should be (in my opinion, anyways) if you're carrying it for hunting or protection.

Im very impressed with how smooth my action came on my .44Mag, I dont know if I got a good one out of the bunch, but Im very happy with it thats for sure!!!!
I have to say that this thread is unbelieveable source of information on these little beasts, major props to all CGNrs who contributed to it, as my Credit Card hates you alland also the fact that this is one of the best ongoing threads on CGN!!!
My first question, does anyone know where we can locate any extra foreends? Or are my options just at Boyds stocks at the moment, Im mostly just looking for a factory replacement because of some ideas I have buzzin around my noggin...

Welcome to the Rossi Club....The short-ass Rossi Club that is!
There are suppliers down south that will gladly gouge you for
fore-ends for your .44 but they won't ship them cause they're
not set up with the US gov't. to do so. (Or they ain't interested.)

The smartest move rossi can make in 2012 is to announce the release of an 1892 Trapper with a 12" barrel like in the old winchester days.
Damn straight on that one!
Imagine the fun of one of these in .454 or .45 ACP.
Ohhhh yeaaaaah!![]()
