UPDATE: Rossi Ranch Hand Mares Leg

Mornin BB,
I won't get into details here, just PM me, but to everyone, if thats the type of holster you want then thats no problem. If you want a bare bones, working holster, we can get you that. Something a bit fancier, then I'll do my best. I am experimenting with inletting different leathers into the holster or belt, so that may be an option.
Stay tuned!,
spacesaver

PS-As for price, when I know what you want for a belt/holster combo I will be better able to give you a price. One thing is for certain, these will be cheaper than most, 100% hand made, and ALL CANADIAN!!:)

PM sent.

I CAN'T wait to wear this puppy in when I am on a hike! Going to be so awesome... :D R:d:

No doubt :) Aside from being awesomely fun to play with in the woods and great protection, it should also scare the pants off the hippies. Basically i'm looking for a holster that can make leaf-eaters and granola crunchers pee on command. :p

Joking aside, i'm really looking forward to playing with the gun AND a nice holster to go with it.

Joking aside we are all going to want to have all of our "ducks in a row" when hiking with these puppies as for sure it's going to "alarm" some folks...and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that some neo hippy #### will dial 911 from their iPhone when they see us coming...

Wouldn't shock me. Tho to be honest although i've heard others say they got hassled by 'that' type of hiker for carrying or shooting guns from time to time i've never had anyone comment to me when i was carrying a rifle or shotgun. Some people will without a doubt mistake it for a pistol.

Aside from carrying the cert for sure, i'll probably have a printout of the wanstalls 'for sale' page with me as well so the police can see it's sold as is. And we'll have to get our 'banter' down well to explain why it's a small rifle, not a pistol. (two handed operation, came from the factory that way, has an frt number, etc).

I think tho that if I see anyone 'staring' at it or showing specific interest i'll probably go over and engage them in friendly conversation right off the bat and look for opportunity to educate them. I've had good luck with that with firearms in the past. Something like "Hi! - I see you're looking at my new rifle, Are you familiar with this style of firearm?" - inevitably they say 'no' and it gives you a chance to talk briefly about it and explain it's a small rifle and why it's not a pistol. If they show any interest I'll generally ask if they'd like to see it or sometimes if they'd like to try it (might not do that with this gun, i suspect it'll be a bit of a handful for an inexperienced shooter unless i load up some 44 special just for that purpose. )

If it's well used trails for the first few times i might carry it with a single point sling attached to the saddle ring or something - just so it looks a little less 'pistol like'.

Word will get around and such. As long as it doesn't look like you're trying to hide it people will tend to assume it must be legal somehow.

so what bronco boy? just keep your registration with you. as long as you are somewhere where you can legally carry a firearm you are fine, plus if anything I see this as a better firearm to carry around as they cant accuse you of poaching with it. but i can see having some guns pulled on me by the cops, has happened before and it will happen again... as long as they dont shoot me :p

What do you mean? I'm seriously considering harvesting a deer with it later this year if i can get accurate enough shooting it. It'll take game just fine i suspect - i don't see why you couldn't poach with it. Not that it would be particularly GOOD for poaching, but still.

Or put a boot to your noggin' :)

well I guess. I just dont see why anyone would use one of these for hunting when they could use a perfectly good rifle, but I guess you could take the bowhunting approach to make it more difficult... that would actually be fun.

But I think it just comes across as more of a self defense rifle than a hunting rifle to a conservation officer, but I will let everyone know what the conservation officers think when I run into them with it...

yea, well the cops where I live are alright, I dont think they have abused anyone that I have heard of, they just like to scare people and act like a$$holes sometimes. no different than any civilian I have run into in black diamond..

lol ... if your planning to hike somewhere that has both hippies and cell phone service, probably best to leave your guns at home ... not a good idea to head up the Grouse Grind with it strapped to your back :runaway:

I don't feel like reading 27 pages. Who's bring these in. I played with them at SHOT SHOW and wanted one ever since.

I just hope people don't attract too much attention with it... we all know it will be banned ASAP

Well with that hiding in the dark attitude how are we going to get anything done politically!

In an ideal world you would be 100% right, but you know how things are. It probably only takes one hippy hiker who complains before they ask thr rcmp to review classification.
Maybe I'm paranoid... who knows

Its a 12" barrel right? .44 mag from a 12 inch barrel is no thing to be triffled with.

It would make a perfect companion in a bowhunter's tree stand too I would think.

yea you could be paranoid but going on past experiences with the rcmp alone, you are not unfortunately.. just trying to have a positive attitude, that seems to be lacking around here these days...

they seem to review classifications with semi autos more, but since this is considered a "handgun" in the states, it is possible they might review it... better sell crates of these little buggers before they even think about it so that they have to fight a ton of angry gun owners :D

So what indeed...I am not worried at all, just sayin.

WHAT?!?! I was thinking about hiking with my Mare's Leg on the trails around the Capilano suspension bridge as well...damit.

All joking aside I have run into ski pole carrying, do-rag and grey wool socks with red strip wearing, gator outfitted, granola crunching, vegan professing , marijuana leaf on their shirt adored commie hippy pinko liberal jerk offs in places they have NO business being.....like the Princeton area, and Sylvester road  and the wilds around Permerton ect, ect...and, much to my dismay, cell coverage is expanding rapidly. :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

I guess I'll have to consider firing a few shots with it to save any neo hippie who's having his face chewed off by a griz or cat.

I wouldn't waste a .22lr let alone a nice handloaded .44 cartridge to save one of those losers. 'Nature Knows Best'.... and a bear's gotta eat, (and so long as it ain't me... I'd be sittin back takin pictures). :D
