UPDATE: Rossi Ranch Hand Mares Leg

however some spec on the .44 currently for sale stateside for the mid $500's

Yep - tho not all of them are 44's. I believe he's also getting in some 357's and some 45 lc's.

I ordered the 44 mag tho :) I have the rossi carbine already in that, so it's just easier for ammo.

I dont want to post the waiting list here because of privacy issues but feel real confident that the list that is built has not omitted or forgot anyone in this long process...I have received posts, PM's, e-mails, phone calls, walk in store customers and even a write in letter requesting these bad boys and they have all been logged and merged into one "Master Mares Leg List" going by date in. If anything I may contact you twice because i wont realize the correlation between your CGN handle and a phone in pre-order!

Will contact people hopefully by mid next week...

Howdy; I was going to suggest you buy a Marlin 336Y in 30/30 .A 12 inch stock and a 16 inch barrel .I bought one Monday for 440 dollars. cheaper than a mares leg.
BUT it is a REMLIN, that is its crap.Worst marlin I ever bought. Like the short gun but the wood to metal is bad and the action is brutal stiff and scrapes,.
I will be months trying to make it work right.

I'd like some kind of shoulder rig...baldric, bandoleer etc.

Ed - i'm going to try a single point sling attached to the saddle ring. I actually think the elastic ones will be perfect for that kind of carry, and with the elastic maybe even give a little more steady aim.

I'll let you know how the experiments go.

Well that one company who makes holsters for it (waaay back in the thread) had a side holster for it for 'under the armpit' or back carry. That might do it.
