I was out shooting a .357 Ranchhand yesterday and compared to the .44 it was a lot easier to hold onto and with .38 specials it was a pop gun.
The sights were way off as expected and it was shooting about 12 inches high at 25 yards on the lowest setting at the rear.
Aiming low to compensate, I was hitting the 100 yard chest sized steel plates at our range off hand with 4-5 out of the 6 shots easy.
The .44 requires a firm grip but is manageable.... the .357 is quite a bit easier to hold and would be good for smaller shooters and in .38 special anyone that is strong enough to hold it at arms length is good to go.
Feed both .357mag and .38sp smooth but towards the end of the shoot I was getting minor hangups on the way into the chamber with the .357mag cartridges.
