UPDATE: Rossi Ranch Hand Mares Leg

Gary is sending me the scabbard with my 44 mag next week. I can't wait.

I am going to try a red laser with a barrel clamp as a targeting system before I change the sights. And before I put a long stock on it.

If I can get the laser to work I can keep the short package.

Just got my .44 mag out for the 1st time & ran a box 0f pistol power loads through it. Awesome trigger just under 3# pull. real blast :rolleyes:to shoot and easy to get 2 -3" groups with a push pull arm extended stance. Shot a bit over 1 foot high at 20 yds. Cycles well as long as you're firm with the lever downstroke. Ordered safety replacement peep sight from Steve's gunz long with front fiber optic. should be a great 50 yard bush gun with hotter loads:D.

Sweet looking carbine cant wate to get started on mine
Im sending Gary my Chiappa mare's lag back because the lever has to much play in it for me
hope Gary can get them to add a full stock to my mare's lag when Chiappa fix the SLOPPY lever
I wood like to see a scout mount for Chiapa ML

steve's gunz has a scout scope mount for round barrels. Look likes it woould require & drilling tapping the barrel. Can't tell if it's Weaver or Picatinny rail cuts from the picture.

I was wondering about a laser on the lower barrel, with a pressure switch near the thumb near the hanging ring.

Something like one of these things

I got the scabbard for my Chiappa ML from Gary you will be happy with it
I have a Chiappa 357/38 ML, Henry 22 ML and a Ranch Hand 44 mag.
out of the box the Chiappa is the most accurate shooting 38's
The ranch hand with full stock and reflex sight will improve the Rossi and will make my toy in to a sweethart of a hunting rifle
I put a cheep crosman reflex sight on the henry just to see how a mare;s leg shots with the reflex will get a red dot later and put that on it.
I havent sighted in the 22 but will do that soon

Reposted from a few weeks back.....

Gary, do you have any tips or leads on Factory Rossi parts in Canada?

It is next to impossible to get anything from Rossi. I have two sets of screws on order and a barrel band and i haven't seen anything. The Rossi distributor says it's hard enough to get the guns up hear let alone parts. And warranty is done through us and not Rossi just because of the time to get er' done...

Thanks Gary,
Very frustrating.
Who's the distributor? Does everything filter through the United States of can Canadian's deal with Rossi in Brasil?

How about barrels for Chiappa's take down
I read in operating manual you can swich barrel's on the Chiappa's take down's
Having a swich barrel mare's leg wood be cool

"prima donna" companies

Not being sarcastic here ... but Wanstall's (and Gary) seem to be dealing with a dumb/arrogant company here ... the ugly kid who's suddenly become popular.

And with the ####-you attitude that naturally accompanies such a rapid elevation. Poor us. Poor Wanstall's.

Let's give them guys in Mission all the time and patience that they need. Canadians will eventually do the right thing.

The Rossi company can kiss my ass. They were lucky, but nasty/dumb. Into it for short-term gain ... #######s fer sure ...

I for one don't share that opinion at all. I think they hit a home run with the Ranch Hand and are stumbling over themselves trying to keep up with their success. Nothing I've seen or read about Taurus / Rossi comes across as "dumb/arrogant, f**k you, nasty/dumb or a**holes". It wouldn't be the first time that a companys success has caused them a whole lotta heart ache.

Rossi's been making the 92's for years.....shouldn't be to hard to send a few loose screws North.

I believe there may be some BS with Taurus/Rossi USA ......it's unfortunate that we Canadians can't deal directly with Brasil.

Ok just a thought. If anyone wants to PM me with mods/problems/solutions for the ranch hand I could make the first post more informative for new ranch hand owners. I dont really feel like sifting through the billion posts on here but I might give it a go eventually.

So far I personally have had no problems besides it shooting high, and the rear low buckhorn with a front sight from steves solved the shooting high problem.

I am getting the scout mount from stevrs for the ranch hand
The chiappa ML is grate right out of the box with the 38's but will be getting a doctor reflex sight or red dot sight better for us old guy's to see HAAHAA IT SUCK'S GETTING OLD!
The henry 22 ml has a reflex sight still have not got out to shoot it with sight on it

Is the action open?

The one I handled didn't impress me because of a loose feeling in the takedown mechanism.....these things are so small takedown only really helps with cleaning.

Scout rail, drilled and tapped seems like a no brainer even though it's less "Josh Randall"

Lots of people here paying way to much for replacement sights
on their Ranch Hands and Chiappas.
Steve's Guns gouges us for the same exact Marbles front and rear sights
that you can get from Brownells. Shipping is also much faster.
For Example:
Marbles Low Flat Top Rear sight.
Steve,s: $24.95 Brownells: $20.99 w/account: $13.10

Marbles Contour Front sight.
Steve's: $24.95 Brownells: $12.95 w/account: $8.71

My total bill before shipping plus NRA Add a Buck donation--$22.81!!!
That's less than the gouge for a front sight alone from Steve's, before
shipping! My bill including shipping was $29.37 for the 2 sights.

Speaking of shipping, from Brownells you choose USPS Priority International and it gets to you in about 15 to 18 days average.
From Steve's it took 6 weeks to get to my place!

Do yourselves a favor and shop Brownells for sights. Start an account with them to get the discount pricing.
For ejector springs and magazine followers, your stuck with Steve's. (I made my own followers from brass.)
Happy shopping.;)

Did you Get your bullseye rear sight mounted yet? Or was it a flat top? I'm curious to know if you got this baby shooting at point of aim, and how you did it.

While I too have an account at brownells i ordered the tune up kit and safety replacement sight which only steve makes so i figured i'd throw in a fiber optic sight which i'm sure someone else makes. But an extra few bucks for the convenience of one-stop shopping was worth it to me. plus I feel money you spend to keep guys in business who have expended a lot of time gaining expertise in a specialized area is well spent. different strokes I guess.
