i would pay 100$ shipped for a set.
Thats reasonable depending how he makes them and how many he makes (for production costs).
Is it me or the pistol grip looks tiny ?
ya, 200$ shipped seems fair.
Bigger grip would be nice. Also, how do you make the top guard to stay there ?
He'd sell a fair number of them at $200 for a full set - I'd suggest he sell them unfinished, then the owner can decide what look they want for their rifle. Also, for those with folders, partial sets (handguards and grips) would be very nice.
???
???? Lol
I would pay 100$ but 200$ is fair considering the market prices.
I would not pay 200$, i'll make mine before burning 200$ on 1lbs of wood.
I wont blame OP for wanting to make money. Depending on his methods, it is very highly probable that his production cost are nowhere near 100$ so its a 100%+ markup to start.
Plus i highly doubt he will pay taxes and declare that income etc. which reduce costs.
Hope i enlighten you.
Once again, i'm not blaming him, i would probably do the same.
Come on ####, 200$ isnt just paying for the material. I dont think he wipped those up in just a few minuets, clearly some effort and time was put into it, and you always pay more for something hand made. I would gladly pay 200$ for something of that quality.
So when are you making yours? Make sure you post pics so we can compair your workmanship to the OP's brother.
I exposed my point of view, if you dont agree its perfectly fine.
I'll post pictures when im done thats for sure. This summer probably.
Maybe you should go back and read the comments. The OP didnt post this to make a profit, he was just showing off his build. Other members here asked if the OP's brother would consider making some for them, and they offered 200$ for it. Nowhere did the OP say he would have some made for 200$ a set, just that he would pass on the offer to his brother. Get it? Your views on marketing are not needed.
Sorry i did not realise you were the internet boss. Get it ?

Here^^. You clame he is in this to make a easy buck. Again, members offered the 200$ for the parts. No twisting words here, just you back peddeling.
Nobody works for free. Is that a bad thing ? Why do you assume that making money from something you are good at is a negative thing ? And yes, 200$ is the average market price and its a fair price especially considering the quality of his work.
Whats your point ?
My breakdown of his costs was simply to explain why i personally wouldnt pay 200$ even if its the market price and illustrate the 100$ vs 200$ thingy posts i made.
Hope its clearer now !
Your veiws are so excellent and your posts are always welcoming.
