upgrading the charging handle

Just got my DDm4V5. I was thinking about upgrading the charging handle.
So far I have heard good things about the BCM and the Raptor charging handles.

Any recommendations? I;m right handed and don;t care about ambidexterity
 
I had been shopping around for a charging handle too and while in the USA a store I was at suggested I just buy the larger latch for 8$ instead of a whole new charging handle. I did just that and all you need is a small punch to swap the OEM latch with the new larger "tactical" one.
 
I've never tried the Raptor but the BCM Gunfighter handles are excellent. I've used one for over 3 years now and it's the best charging handle I've used to date.

This is what I did to my stock charging handles before switching to the Raptor. I picked up the Badger Ordinance tac latch from Browenlls for $18. Took 10min to swap out the old one. Works well and probably all you ever need for a righty shooter. The Raptor or any other ambi charging handle is nice for a lefty but is it necessary? Probably not (lots of lefties shot with a stock handle many moons before these ambis came around) but some tools sure makes things easier. :)
 
I just went for the Badger Ordnance tac latch. Has worked great for me. The whole ambi thing isn't something that concerns me....
 
I have used the Raptor, Badger oversized tac latch, and now all my AR have BCM mod 4 in them. Being a left as well, the Raptor was nice, but not needed, and I found I didn't care for how it rested when slung across infront.

It's strong enough, smooth enough and designed the way it unlocks to be able to blade it. Ie left hand back without having to grab the handle. Gives you mote of an ambi side charging handle feel of you want. Much faster. I'm right handed and prefer it. It's a worthwhile upgrade. I tried one on a buddies rifle and had to get a few myself. No brainer for my two full ambi builds.
 
I've tried the Raptor and found no difference in feel from my BCM Mod4 as far as charging using only my index finger.

I tried the Badger a Ordnance Tac Latch and it isn't smooth and puts a lot of lateral force on the charging handle.
I actually managed to snap a roll pin on one.
 
I have handled both the BCM and the Raptor charging handles. BCM is good but I'd choose the Raptor, all the way. Like Farmboy said it operates smoothly, it's easy to handle, and i think it looks great. Really can't lose either way.
