US M14 Parts Kits

I have just returned home and had a quick look at the parts kits. So far I am very impressed!

The barrels on my heavys were manufactured in 1983. There is a litttle-to-no throat erosion showing on my gauge. The parts kits are mixed. I do not have a complete TRW kit, but I could assemble one with the parts in the kits. It's a smattering of H&R, SA, TRW and "X" (seriously it's an X where the manf stamp should be on the one bolt).

Remember, with the HB rifles, these were scoped "DMR" rifles, so the "rifle in a bag" with all the parts in it, was assembled (likely at a depot level) and tested to be a marksmans rifle. The so it doesn't really matter what the parts are in the bag, it met a minimum standard for accuracy when it was assembled!

From what I've read about these rifles they were all hand selected for D.M.R. use, with some apparently being heavy barreled likely for a specific purpose. All were scoped, though.

Did you and your customers just buy heavy barreled versions, or did you get a look at the regular kits as well?

Been trying to find this stock version through google and was having trouble until I typed in "Israeli M14" then I got the exact match, are these from the IDF M14's? Also read that the "X" indication marked on some parts that John from M14Medic mentioned means that a confirmed kill was completed with the rifle! Very cool story if thats true! In any case these are awesome.

The "x" I am referring to is on the bolt, it is the place I was expecting to see the manufactured mark ie: "SA", "HR", "HRA", "TRW" etc. The "X" was put on the bolt before it was heat treated so it is not the "confirmed kill" mark you reference.

A mixture of both. Customers were 50/50, I went all HB.

Now that I've had a chance to really look them over, I probably could have saved myself a couple bucks and just bought all standard weight kits!

Either way, a smoking deal if you ask me!

Absolutely - can't wait to receive mine. Thanks for the response.

Thanks for bringing these in! Called bright and early before work started to grab one. In hindsight I should have bought both kits but as they say, hindsight is always 20/20. Tempted to get another one but need another receiver, any donors? Lol

Anyone else having trouble with the checkout? My card keeps being declined. Just called the credit card company and everything is confirmed good to go on that front. Weird. Hope I can still get one.

Unfortunatly I don,t see our market as large enought to justify the outlay <- speaking Re: Galil Parts Kits / Mags

What is the minimim'ish order size and would the prices be the same ? I might think it would be a bit less - heaven knows they had way more Galils than M14s.
