US M14 Parts Kits

In today’s world with Google and the internet everyone the world over can find out what any product is worth anywhere in the world. Overseas sellers see that M14 bolts alone sell for approx $300 dollars so how do you expect to purchase a parts kit complete for $500, sorry this just will not happen.

It will be a huge job to sort and grade all these kits, this adds to the expense, not sure if this will be possible. If we do sort and grade we will have to charge a premium price on some kits to offset the lower price on others so we can average our return at our “Target price”.

It has been suggested we split up the kits and sell individual parts, I have already considered this but I don’t think I am purchasing them cheap enough to make this a viable option. All kits disassembled and every part would have to be cataloged and entered into our computer system, this all takes time, which is money. If we were to split up, for example a 100 kits, the problem here is I may quickly sell 100 bolts and 20 barrels and a few small items, then I am left with a pile of small parts that may never sell, yet customers could be demanding more bolts. The Individual part prices would have to be high to allow for this, no I don’t think the numbers will work if we try this. We may well find some sub standard rifles amongst the batch so it may be possible to split up a few kits, but I think I would prefer to make them a “special”.

Thank you for posting this. This is in my opinion, a more than fair price for a USGI M14 Parts kit. This kind of a deal is just amazing and I will be looking forwards to seeing what comes in, the closer we get to the date.

If this works out for you, would you consider looking around for more parts kits, off other firearms (M16's, M2 Carbine, etc) if another lot becomes available?

No switches as all these were used strictly semi- auto only, this is good as the barrel wear will be a lot less. The heat from full auto fire would accelerate bore erosion and wear in these light barrels.

I am always on the look out for these kind of deals but they occur less and less frequently. Often the government red tape makes things extremely awkward and expensive. When shipments have to have police escorts to be moved, when airlines charge excessive charges for shipping firearms, when shipping agents fail to understand what documents are required it all adds to the expense. Delays and storage fees can cost a fortune, factor in a few damaged items or rusty bores and the profit is gone. I got really excited recently when I was offered a warehouse full of old Lee Enfields, price was a little high for the huge quantity I was offered but I hardly slept that night! Next day I received the photos, when I saw them I considered then scrap, not even worthy the shipping cost. I dream on, may be one day!!

There are also lots of scams, I remember back in "the old days" in the UK, when I was offered a job lot, two crates of WWII US surplus handguns, found in the back of a warehouse. The seller was surprized when I called him long distance (long before fax machines) and questioned him about the guns, he got a little nervous when I said I would jump in the Land Rover and drive to London and collect them, I had the cash and the licence. This deal was offered to me by an old established dealer who had traded in surplus guns since the end of the war, or so he claimed! I called his bluff when he described the guns as "Colt model one nine eleven A ones".
 
Very interested in a couple of parts kit if the price is right, preferably TRW or Winchester.
What's the price and what condition will they be in?
When do you think you can get these in?

Slightly off topic... are the F/A Connector Arms prohibited here in Canada? Not the switch or internals, just the arm. If they came with the connector arms I might be in on one to help rebuild an ol'gal with a civie receiver and some badly worn parts (she was F/A a long time ago **and** for those interested, has been registered as N/R under the LGR in the past)

I don't believe the arm is a prohibited part but this s a grey area at best, I am sure lots of "legal experts" will jump in here and "correct" us! I think it better to play safe and dump them. For what it is worth, in my opinion, a gun is what it is, not what it may be registered as, no matter what the certificate might say. I have had the CFC make "Administrative corrections" when they want to. I have seen US M14 rifles at gun shows with the selector lug ground off and presented as "Rare semi auto M14 variants" but who am I to offer an opinion? there is always something new to learn every day, but my advice is to be very cautious with such animals.
 
Also interested, even though the price point is steep for a newer firearms owner it doesn't take much effort to look around and find what they are going for in the US without the bbl, bolt and the parts of receiver

There is a lack of m14 mags on the market right now, the only option appears to be Norinco. Just a thought if these usgi mags are not worth bringing in perhaps stocking CMI or another high quality mag please. ( E-lander perhaps?)
 
Providing the connector arm with the kit would be nice. In order to fashion a dummy selector with a connector arm the connector arm itself needs to be ground off in locations to help it fit/mate when alongside the receiver thus demilling the arm. The arm is attached to the stock and is not part of the receiver in any way. Same as a Fulton Armory faux selector.
 
why not just follow the Israeli example- weld the selector switch shut so it can't move grind off the connecting lug, and leave the connector alone- and the connector arm is NOT THE PROHIBTED PART- it depends on who did the importing and how "ambitious" they got with the selector switch and its assocites- I have 3 and the connector arm is still intact- it's the selector SWITCH ( not the lock) AND HOW IT CONNECTS to the hammer hooks is where the "secret " lies
