USA made Glocks VS Austrian

doubt it same company same quality, bought my glock from a dealer here on cgn assuming it was Austrian (said Austria on the slide) when I finally got it home found out it was a USA made
still havent shot it yet but through my many months of fondling it its still held up!

I have a Austrian G17 gen 3 and my dad has a US G17 gen 3 . I have closely compared and shot both , no difference really . The US glock actually has a bit tighter frame to side fit it seems , triggeers seem the same on both, parts are interchangeable too .. Dont hesitate to buy a US made Glock

Not sure its different on the gen 3s ? both i have here the finish looks identical . Both have that slick tenifer finish with the rainbow tinge . I think the gen4s vary though?

Yea people maybe think there is some difference like the German vs US sig 226 ( really made by completely different company's)? But not with Glock, H&K or Breretta , these company's hold their US factory's to the highest standards possible. Cant tell a difference between the two i have here , internals and parts all look identical.
Austrian made Glocks will have "Austria" on the left side of the slide along with the caliber and model number, USA made Glocks will have "USA" on the left side with the same info,
USA made glocks also have a tiny pentagon stamped into the barrel and what I think is the state of pennslvania on the right side of the slide and frame, not sure about Austrian only have 1 so far
To pazzo : No I bought the gun from a dealer in BC they had a picture of an Austrian made glock 17 gen 3 that's what I assumed I would get, when I got it home and unboxed it, it was a USA made glock 17 gen 3. and it does have the MADE IN USA on the left side of the frame along with Glock, INC., SMYRNA. GA.

750 rounds through my USA Glock17 gen4 and no issues at all. Every time I have pulled the trigger it has went bang.
I've heard that the US Glock factory in Georgia had tooling imported from Germany and the plant actually was configured for 220V tooling. I haven't seen any issues with US Glocks. I would not hesitate to purchase a US made Glock but I still prefer Austrian made 
I would be curious to know what parts are actually manufactured in Smyrna.
If I had to guess, I would assume that the polymer frames would be molded in the US, particularly for the subcompacts.
As for the rest, I'd imagine many parts are still produced in Austria and just assembled in the US.
It's entirely possible that they have 100% mirrored capacities, but......
For some parts, I'm sure the volume easily justifies the costs.
For others, unless the machinery producing them in Austria is running 24/7/365 and still could not keep up with the demand, I'd have a hard time justifying the cost of tooling and a second separate QC program.

Really no difference, the advantage to Glock would be no import restrictions making them in the U.S. with the same equipment.
and with the same parts. It's still a Glock.
