Besides the difference in finish is there any major difference between the USA and Austrian made glock? Is the US made glock less reliable than the Austrian made one? Seems like a stupid question but I know with beretta, us made is garbage.

Care to back that one up?

There are finish differences, but its dependent on the batch. Older Austrians had full Tenifer treatment, unsure of today as Im told even the Austrians has ditched it for Melonite.
It was advantageous to get Austrians in the past for that legendary Tenifer.

I can only back it up based on my own experience with them. Having owned over 10 beretta pistols the 2 us made ones were the only ones I have ever had issues with.

Well, I've owned maybe 6 or so of them over the years, and never had any issues with any of them. Oddly enough, the two I have now are both US made, and are problem free.

I don't think is makes much difference at all, unless your looking for different and/or hard to get roll marks. Too each his own.

It takes a little more searching to find the true-blue (true-red?) Austrian Glock these days. Manufacturing has shifted to US for North American market sometime over the last year - year and a half.

Collector in me says any Glock in the safe must have 'Austrria' on the slide.

Just the roll marks. I have a few of each and aside from the tenifer finish on one of my g17's there is no difference in the new ones.

The finish is the only difference between the two. The Tenifer finish on the US made glocks isn't actually genuine, as the chemicals used in Austria are banned in the states. That being said, the finish is still excellent and holds up great to wear.

Otherwise, the dudes pressing the button on the milling machines are from different nationalities, and I haven't seen anything online to say the QC in Symrna is different than their Austrian plant.

I have both ans they are exactly the same.
As a matter of fact, the finish on the usa is the better one.
My austrian with less than 10k has wear marks all over, and I like it like that

I have two of each and they're all the same functionally, I don't care about finish. A lot of people on here are trying to tie the tenifer process to the exterior finish and that's not correct.

Here's an example of the different finishes.

Exactly; The "Tennifer process" is actually underneath the visible finish.

The older model (pre 2012ish) had a shinier/grainier and smoother finish which I strongly prefer.

The later models seem to have a "matter" finish parkerized-like and it seems to wear out pretty fast and is much more vulnerable to scratches; my 2007 Gen3 G17 looks like new, I could not say the same about my 2014 Gen4 G19...

Yes, I too think a Glock with USA roll marks is pathetic and would never buy or own one, ever. Whom ever gave the green light to have USA stamped on a Glock slide should have their teeth kicked in.

Gaston Glock put Austria on the map....for me, the only "real" Glock...is a 3rd Gen Glock marked AUSTRIA ;)

even 4th Gen are POS and RTF or what ever the heck also pure SH!t ....always have to try to ruin a good thing....like a Beretta 90-Two Lmfao....gez. ....or a slanted dust cover on the Beretta frame...I've seen Italian Berettas with slanted duct covers too....WTF?

Just my 2cents ;)
