You mean you're not on a marksman detail during the olympics?
Would have been an excellant chance to try her out - what is this country coming to - LOL!

That's way far outside my lane ...

Well I finally got the scope in. Here are a few pics, the scope is not tightened down, I want to have the rings lapped in before a proper mount. The problem is I cannot find a shop locally that will do it. I may end up buying my own kit and doing it myself. For anyone wanting to do a project like this be warned. you are going to pay a huge premium for outdated and obsolete parts so you had better be a USMC Kool-Aid drinker. For the cash spent you can buy a totally modern weapons system with much better optics which are way easier to set up. But for those of who had to have as close a gun as possible ...this was a labor of love...now if I can just find the correct MRT sling. Scope serial number is same as rifle. This was #80 of 100 from the last batch...

looks good man, now we gotta see it shoot. what's your expected load?
I thought you might try duplicating an era specific load and bullet combo. I've got tons of Federal GM brass you can have for it.
You, sir, are my hero.
As faithful a representation of the M40A1 as can be done in Canada, I suspect. How'd you source the scope? VBull?
And now this, the ###iest rifle around, is up for sale on the EE...
Hopefully whoever buys it treats it right, doesn't just rapid fire surplus 308 through it at 25m...
