V-block precision stocks

The blocks are made to good tolerances, but not necessarily the action. If the action is an high end custom than it may be fine. For average actions bedding is preferred. Of course, there are a lot of rifles shooting fine in HS stocks and pillar bedded McMillans. Comes down to needs and expectations...

Do you think bedding a Tac21 would be of any benefit? Is it possible to bed a Tac21?

On Tube Type stocks/chassis the actions are glued in............you can't remove them.........easily ;)............you wouldn't bed a TAC-21.......you would glue the action in.........

I won't be "gluing" my TAC-21........I want to be able to remove the action....

The AICS Chassis doesn't need bedding for it's intended purpose as well........however you can bed them, and some recommend bedding them.

I have shot an AICS chassis for over 10 years without bedding it. My rifle holds .5 MOA...........sometimes better.........

Keep in mind Jerry's background. What a BR/F Class guy would do to his rifle to squeeze the groups down a hair is not necessarily what a casual tactical rifle guy might do.

I think what most people here are trying to say is that you can inlet an aluminum chassis to the exact specs of the factory action, but when you torque down an out-of-spec action into that inletting you will have stress on the action.

Same goes for V-blocks. They can be aligned perfectly, but if there is any deviation from the factory specs in the alignment of the action, there will be stress.

Does this hurt the average shooter? Probably not. Does it hurt precision accuracy? Probably.
