Valmet : Where in God's name are they all hiding

Silly question I know, but does anyone have any idea if anyone is selling a Valmet ? Hunter/m78 (m88??) I'm really kicking myself for skipping on them when IRG had like 4 of them at 2k USD a pop

I saw the m78 in 7.62x39 on the EE, 12k for that but I believe it comes with a drum, an extra stock and some parts

Checked it out quite a while ago. It was pretty mint but.... 12k for one in 223

Poor guy who bought it, wonder if he has any idea just how hard he got fleeced. But then again you know what they say about a fool and his money......

The 308 was on for a bit, but eventually sold.
Did see another 308 last year.

Of course government can change anything at anytime (and RCMP now with C71), but the Valmet M78 - together with Sterlings - are specifically named OIC models as NR exempt. If rumour holds true that a bunch were given out to Metis back in the day for hunting use, then I tend to think M78s will always be exempt even in the event of any semi auto ban.

My two cents. Been looking for a .223 myself, but no calibre Valmet is worth 10K. At least, not for another decade.

And while I agree with you on the Valmets not being prohibited (they even have a note in the FRT about their use with the natives up north) but in a decade they will be worth $20k, mark my words.
