Valmet : Where in God's name are they all hiding

Why must it be made in Finland? Not arguing the point, just trying to understand.

The second point is good info. Unfortunate, however.
The current frt entry specifies they are made in finland. A new entry would be required for one made in Canada. That new entry is unlikely to be made non restricted.

Ordering the receivers only to be machined in Finland would be simple enough... But again, Beretta is refusing to license the brand.

Clearly, you've done some research. Thank you for that.

Had a Hunter Galil clone in 7.62x39 (converted from .308), and an M78 in 5.56. Sold both. The only thing they really have going for them is their current NR status. When we could still get Vz58s and even T81s? Valmets were pretty, but offered nothing the other options didn't do better. AK ergos are "meh" at best. I have zero regrets selling mine.

I wanna turn my Valmet into a Galil clone

Can anyone help?

The parts are a pain to source, but they're out there. Installing some of the parts (like the handguard) can be challenging. Too bad Dlask isn't an option anymore - they were great for welding and fabricating stuff like handguard retainers, trigger guards, etc.
