Value of 1970's made 870 Wingmaster 12ga

I want to sell my 1970's manufacture Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge but I'm not really sure what a reasonable selling price would be. It's a 30" full choke barrel, 2.75" chamber, in NRA "Good" condition. Never an issue with it and it runs 100%.

What would you say is a fair price?

Not so much, I think, in Good condition. Wingmasters are in demand bc of the quality vs. today's 870's. But they are still very common.

I see Wingmasters in ex condition $400, $500, $600 ask prices. Once in awhile $300 and it goes quick. Good would be down from that area.

^I'd agree with this, but might add that things like a Vent Rib barrel might increase it's value...nice wood in good condition would help too. For a 30"/plain barrel (assuming the bore is good) maybe $400-$500 asking? Not sure you'd get $500 for it.
 
A fixed choke, 2.75 chamber? not more than 300$ since to "update" it you'd need a new barrel.

Take a surf through the EE, there are several 870 Wingmaster's of various vintages with a range of $400.00 to $700.
They even provide pictures to show condition and vintage too.
There pump action appears to have fallen from favor and headed towards the semi auto club.
Me, I like them both with a strong preference for the Wingmaster, but in one specific configuration that I wont bore you with the details.

I told him not to imbarass yer mum.

Scored big time on that one.

I sold a nice one 2 yrs ago on here , asked 400.oo and got lots of wants , I had redid the finish on the wood and the blue was about vg+ about 80%
I would go 450.oo and have a little wiggle room, shipping has got stupid $$$$
I think it may have been 28", getting old.
 
There's piles of them at every gun show...every gun show. They're fantastic shotguns, I have several with all sorts of barrels and yes, yes, they are hands down better built than 1990's or newer ones, but that doesn't mean they're expensive. They aren't.

OP, if you've had your fun with it and wish to pass it along and you get a $100 bucks, both you and buyer should feel good about the deal. Condition depending, maybe, maybe as high as $200, $250...but not much more. Any more, the buyer should just go to his local gun show and take one off the table for $100 or $150.

Your gun, you can put it up for $500, or $5000 for that matter, but you're over. Way over.
 
Wingmasters in decent shape used to be around $500 years ago....... I know the price of everything has gone up due to inflation,covid and the Putin price hike/climate change, Nice to hear they have only gone up to $150-$200.

Many people are short on cash these days and it's a buyers market for common items.

I bought an absolute beauty ,28" mod barrel early 60's think it got tried once and put away. No rust for an 870 that can be difficult $500 shipped.

I'd buy everyone I could find for $100-150. Never seen a Wingmaster for that price unless it was near dead.

NO doubt, the stocks alone would be worth $150 maybe more if real nice. There are so many more cheap imported shotguns on the market today then there was 15 years ago... I think some just people overlook the Wingmasters these days.

Ithaca 37's would also be hard to ignore in the $100-$150 price range...... :)
 
A field grade Wingmaster with a 2 3/4" barrel is about in the same boat as a Model 12- $250 to $300.
Add better wood such as a Monte Carlo butt stock with a Remington pad, vented ribbed barrel,screw in chokes, etc and thy go up from there.

This is the price range I was estimating as well, and seems to be consistent with the more reasonable ads I've seen in the EE and on GP.
