The reason I ask is that I have a SA 20 lower that is now mated with a 6920 upper. I'm thinking of buying a SA 20 upper and all the other CC parts , turning it into a complete SA 20.As someone who will one day be buying a SA20, I would say anything that isn't all CC factory assembled and original with all the accessories included (that came with rifle when available new) would be worth less to a collector, but many who plan to use the rifle may not find it any less desirable; provided it's all factory CC SA20 parts.
As I do not believe the upper or any other parts for that matter come labeled (to maintain a match to each rifle) there would be no way in telling if say for example a buffer tube, rear sight or an upper were switched around since from one SA20 to another as only the lower is marked to indicate it's build i.e.. serial #.
CC products are built to be completely disassembled and then reassembled w/o having to match any parts what so ever and still perform flawlessly.
Saying that if anything was not factory SA20 CC parts then yes it wouldn't be a factory correct SA20 and should be noted and the buyer made aware before selling. Then at that point it should/would be worth less and be harder to sell at the same price as compared to a factory correct SA20.
Ultimately due to CC's design and build quality it shouldn't matter at all provided all parts are in fact derived from other factory SA20 rifles and it comes with all factory accessories or is priced less to reflect this.

But it would cost me about $1400 to do, so not sure if I want to spend that kind of cash, unless I could recoup it, if I decide to sell.
Thanks

A couple of weeks ago, my friend picked up a complete SA20 from one of the site sponsors for $1,500 plus tax and shipping.
I wouldn't think the value would be there with a NON SA20 upper, it's not quite a FrakenAR, but it won't be worth the value of a factory SA20, nor will it sell as easily. I'd expect you to lose the cost of the lower and a few hundred more at those figures; meaning the final build will probably be worth a little more then a $1,000.
Why not sell the lower and just add the $1,400 and buy a real SA20? I know it's sometimes easier (and more fun) to piece these firearms together, but you won't be saving yourself any cash when it comes time for resale.
That's a smoking deal for sure.

Any idea how many SA 20 left on the market?
Right now, if I were to buy the rest of the parts off the EE it would cost me $1900 . ( already got a lower for $500). Cheapest I've seen one is $1800 + 15% taxes + shipping. So it would cost me $300 more to sell my lower and buy a complete.
I didn't start out even wanting a CC , but ended up with the 6920 upper and then got the CC lower. And so it begins, now I want the CC upper...![]()
I hear what your saying. I didn't start off wanting anything in particular. But the upper was on sale , so I grabbed one. Then I wanted a colt lower to go on it. I tryed to find a Colt US lower but had no luck. So I ended up with a CC lower , and here I am.
I'll run it as is for now, maybe if I see any good deals on the EE , I'll jump on them![]()
LOL, I started with a Stag AR, Then seen the CC SA15 and sold the stag to buy that. Then sold the CC to buy a Blacktain lower , with intentions of doing a Blackrain build. Then I sold that and bought the SFRC lower, just to have a lower. Then I seen the deal on the 6920 upper, so I had to buy that. And well I'm right back where I started. Where did you find all the 6920 lowers? I couldn't find one anywhere . You know what, never mind , don't tell me where to get one , because then I'll be trying to do two Colt builds.![]()

Make no mistake, it is definitely a sickenss and as far as I know, there is no known cure.AR'itis is it a disease or a blessing? What is it with gear, guns and gadgets...
We just can't stop ourselves from collecting cool kit. I've got a basement full of stuff and some of it is still sitting around new/unused in the original box; ugh I need more time so I can get chit done.

^ Well done good sir, your spare parts bin is worthy indeed.
Now to get that whole rifle looking like the stock and by that I mean well used (not that your parts aren't already, shall we say experienced)...

View attachment 65958Well, since we're doing pics.
Here's mine so far.
I'm not to fussy about the Windham Handguard though. I ordered a MI midlenght FF from Irunguns, with the intention of cutting off the FSP. But have decided I'm not going that route now. So now I'm stuck with a New Handguard that I don't need. Any recommendations of a drop in Handguard ?
Lol, not to derail this thread even further than I have, but my camera seems to make everything look shiny and new, even stuff that's been beat to hell.
I agree though, the rest of the upper and lowers don't really match everything else so I'll have to get out and shoot the hell out of it, lol!
