Hello. I'm wondering if those who know can tell me how much a decent but not perfect Cooey Winchester Model 84 (not 840) in .410 is worth on today's market.
I'm well aware that people try to score Cooeys cheap.

I'm told top collecting interest is 28 gauge, followed by .410.

And I know lots of people like to hunt small game with .410's.

Are they a premium priced model due to the gauge?

Rather than telling me it's worth $75 and I should sell it to you :)rolleyes:) please let me know your best informed guesstimate as to max dollar this could sell for.

This one has a slight crack under the stock back from the trigger guard. A few minutes with carpenter's glue and clamps overnight would see that go away.

Nice shiny bore.

I paid extra for it because it's a .410. Shooting a Model 84 in 12 gauge is a bit less than complete fun....first shotgun I ever owned and shot.

At auction, .410s bring significantly more than comparable 12s. I think yours would bring at least $150-$175, and could go higher.
Epoxy is better than carpenter's glue.

Someone's pounded the x pins out of it, so it's been apart for some reason.
I think $175 would be on the high side.
If it was mint, then $200 - $225..................maybe?
The 84's are more sought after than the 840's.
These use to fetch $100 - $125 not that long ago at gun shows.
They are on the rebound for some reason.

JMHO

They're on the rebound since people are collecting Cooeys...they're not just a barn gun anymore...plus the .410 is about ideal for use.

Anyway, thank you guys for the informed opinions.

I paid $180 for it shipped and will be reselling it for hopefully that plus ship on the EE.

Sadly it came with no firing pin so I have to pay for that too.

Gun is listed on the EE with no mention of the cracked stock or firing pin issue. Thats a little deceiving....

Firing pin has been replaced with another one like new from another gun. (you can see it in a picture)

And, there are 6 pictures fully showing the stock.

Most people put one picture of the gun from about 6 feet away. I've got a bunch of closeups.

Really appreciate the deceiving comment.

The firing pin came right out of another Model 84 Cooey. It's the exact right pin in new condition. It fit right in and was retained with the normal screw. It works fine.

There is only one pin you can get...they're all the same.

These threads piss me off..... it's one thing to own a rare gun and really want to get a price check....

It's another to ask for "help" then dump your gun on the EE at a price higher than the advice you receive... thereby creating a thread promoting your ad....

It's a frickin cooey single shot.... there are piles of them on the ee daily, could you really have not figured this out yourself?...
