vanguard rate of twist?

Yes, the Weatherby website shows 1 in 14 for the 22-250 Vanguard as you suggested.

Would a vanguard s1 be listed on the website? Aren't they no longer made?

OP, you could always just measure yourself with a cleaning rod. Mark the rod, push it through the bore w/patch until it completes a full revolution, mark it again and then measure the space between marks.

Your correct, my bad. The info on the website is for the newer Vanguard 2 rifles.
Measuring as you suggest is a great idea.
OP - you could also email Weatherby and ask and I am sure they can confirm the twist rate for you.

The only rifles they changed the twist in from S1 to S2 were 223 1/12 to 1/9 and 308 1/12 to 1/10.
All else remains the same.

ya, it's 1:14, thanks guys, I have a tikka t3 now that has the same twist and I was hoping the weatherby was 1:12 for bigger bullets, just looking for something that could double as a deer rifle

Use the right bullet and it can...
50gr TSX should stabilize, 60gr Partition should as well. Both will kill a deer dead.
