Just put 3 lbs of powder in the cart and it said $56 for shipping. Why so expensive? I just shipped 50 lbs of brass for $36. I know I'm in NL but I've shipped a rifle to the Yukon , for less than that.

Well I called Canpar , twice and told them I had 100 lbs of live ammo, and they told me there was no hazmat fee. And the same with Fed ex. I've had powder shipped from other stores and wasn't charged a hazmat fee. Any way , no big deal, just wanted to ask Reliable .

Powder kegs are different from loaded ammo. If a single cartridge detonates for whatever reason, it's not going to cause much destruction. If 1lb of powder goes off in the presence of 2 other pounds of powder...

... it will flash like hell and burn up. It won't "detonate". If it was likely, the packaging would be changed. Black Powder most likely would be "a little more brisant".

I just sent 6 lbs of powder from Edmonton to Courtney, BC for under $30 via Caanpar, Hazmat fee from resellers is a scam

Hey everyone,

Just ran the quote, it's due to the distance. Anything that we ship with a similar weight and size from Vancouver - Newfoundland with Canpar ground will cost about $55 where if we could have used Canada Post it would closer to $28. Please also remember that powder must be shipped by ground.

We would love to have a more cost effective way to ship powder or any controlled goods but at the moment there just isn't a better option.

If you have any questions or ever think a quote is wrong feel free to email me!

All the best,
Nick

Hey Nick. Still waiting to hear back about my order inquiry you were working on. Looking forward to hearing back. Thanks.

SFRC shipped my varget via UPS, it was 22$ for 4 lbs.

Well that price don't seem so bad after all as I just got a quote from Ontario for $132 for shipping.:) And to make matters even worse, I tried to order 4 lbs of varget from you , but your out of stock. You snooze you lose.
