Varmints - Becomming a Pain in My A$$!

I'm to lazy to sit out all night waiting for them, though around here its usually raccoons after my sweet corn not foxes after the wifes cat. I use a live trap with a can of dog food securely wired to the back of the trap so they cant just grab the can and run off. I just check it in the morning, if its occupied, I go back to the house and grab the 22 and a shovel (after my morning coffee).

Although I'm sure it's breaking some sort of bylaw, all my neighbours are cool. It'll probably be a race to see who tacks him first!

got a window facing the area where you would bait ? sit inside by the window with a decent pellet gun , shoot the fox from inside..... no noise outside , no complaint . Or get a live trap

I hear ya. Not at my place though.... I can't believe the sive of these buggers.
I had one in my back yard one morning (pre-light) chewing on a dog bone, before he picked his head up, I thought it was a coyote.

They're very well fed!!

Dog food is a cheap and effective bait for both domesticated Foxs and Coyotes....

On an unrelated noted... there exists such a product as a "subsonic .22"

I've used them for along time shooting indoors up to 50ish feet and recommend them.

If you use 22 CB Short/Longs it sounds quieter then an airgun but you would have to shoot it at like 10 ft. A wicked good call is the Johnny Stewart R/C caller. Put the speaker where you want to trick the animal from and set up the receiver to any point LOS and you are set. The foxes will be running in. Too bad you couldn't use like a 22 WMR it would be perfect for what you are doing.

A ball of hamburger with a bunch of exlax inside it will have that fox really easy to track and dispatch. Just follow the spoor trail.
