Versamax vs M2 for 3-gun

I know where there's a Versamax sitting in the box it came in just in case your bored one day and want to try it out to compare.......:p

Are you even in Canada anymore? LOL

There are two shotgun matches happening this month.
Why don't you dust it off and come shoot it?

It'll be interesting to see where the vmax ends up sitting in the 3-gun world.
If I were to bet on it I'd say that in a couple of years the Benelli will still be on top.

I recently bought the Versamax tactical, hoping to get into 3 gun next year. Good decision I hope. It feels long, if that makes sense.

I'm to invested in Benelli to change but the Versamax is a great shotgun. Doesnt seem to be as rock solid in the reliability department but maybe I have seen guys with bad pins.

9...with the ghost load?

I wouldn't decide on a Gun based on whether or not it can be ghost loaded...
In all the matches I've shot, not once have I seen it where "ghost loading" was permitted in order to increase capacity in any division other than "open".
Sure.. Most RO's allow you to start with one round on the lifter, but... You don't need ghost load it... Just load to magazine capacity and then charge/rack to spit one out of the mag and onto said lifter.
That said... I did modify my M2 so it could be ghost loaded, but... Under match conditions I've never had the opportunity to take advantage of it.

Suffered the same dilemma. Bought the Benelli M2. 1 pound lighter and I prefer the 21" to 22" barrel length. I also have a hard time believing that Remington QC would ever compare to Benelli. I also think that the M2's will hold their value better. Tough part is that it's hard to source a 21" M2 in Canada, while VM Tac's can be found.

AAAAAaaaarg
I'd have to spend some time with the SBE2 to see I'd outrun the gun with its longer stroke (yes I'm that fast.......on the internet)

When the weather gets warmer we can get together sometime and you can try mine.

We (cbabes, myself, and a few others) have been talking about doing a shotgun show and tell day.

pauls will stroke out... lol
I would like to compare the M2 with the other sg s mentioned above.

Build a few stages while you're at it and we will come.

i picked up the two versa maxs (one for me and the other for cbabes). They are two tactical receivers but with the regular versa max 28" barrels. So theyve got the extended charging handles, bolt release and nordic tube extension plus the longer barrel with the 3.5" marked chamber.

I have no doubt that the benelli is the better of the two. I just dont have the cash flow to justify a M2. Plus i doubt ill be out shooting the capabilities of the versamax anytime in the near future.

Its the indian not the arrow...and all that.
The key is to be proficient with any platform you choose or like/want to use.
they can all be competitive.

Any stage longer than 8 rounds is won or lost based on your ability to reload.
With a little practice, everyone can learn to shoot quickly.
Learning to reload consistently fast is what will separate the field.
That and a fancy outfit. If you don't look good, you don't stand a chance. Just stay home.
