Personally I am pretty convinced that video games are what's going to save private gun ownership.
If it weren't for video games, I think a lot of kids would only think of gun ownership in terms of fat angry weirdos in realtree camo hanging around sketchy 1970s looking gun ranges in beater pickups with Browning buck stickers in the window.
Partly on account of video games, I think lots of kids grow up thinking, "ARs and HK45s...f'ing badass and I want them." There is way more detailed information about guns in video games than any other source. It's not just "gun shaped things" the way it often is in movies. It's "Vickers 1911" or "M1 Garand" or "Beryl 96" displayed on the screen. It gives the kids an appetite for specific guns and makes gun culture seem cool.
