Vintage weaver vs modern scopes

Another vote for trace scope repair. I like the old weavers because I like vintage rifles. Vintage rifles with a modern scope is hideous in my eyes.

Crossfire is bottom end of the Vortex China lineup. That about says it all. You could also just wait for an older Bushnell Elite to pop up. Very good glass that usually sells in the $175 - $250 range. They'll stomp a Crossfire on the quality side.

Contrary to our exchange yesterday I will 100% agree with you on this one.

Back in the late 60's and early 70 comparing a Weaver to the Bushnell... it was the same as looking through a coke bottle and looking through a scope that was brighter than a Leupold. Really all Weaver had going for them was a steel tube for what that is worth.

I have 2 Weaver scopes. They aren't the older model but the Grand Slam and very happy to have them.
