I know this might not be a mil. slurp. anymore, being currently re-introduced/produced, but I think it belongs in this forum for all of those who love the original VIS pistol.
The new VIS wz.35 is in production. You might have heard rumours about it, but the current copy of the magazine "Strzał" has a load of information and pictures of the production line, samples from the production line and pictures of the old (original 1925) and new Fabryka Broni (arms factory in Radom).
Here's the gist:
-they are producing them, but not in high numbers right now (this year) - there will be only a select number on guns offered to gauge interest
-cost might be kept down in the future with cast/MIM parts
- the original VIS was hand made, fitted and polished (this might be very labour intensive and expensive to mass produce)
- the gun is made 100% in Fabryka Broni w Radomiu to original specs. The only thing different will be the barrel and lug - it will no longer be machined from one piece of metal
-production & distribution has not been finalized (may be pre-sales)
-the production at the factory right now is focused on the MSBS-5.56 modular rifle
FB 90th Anniversary 1925-2015
Here's a teaser. The magazine hit the news stands today.
