I have a bank issued visa debit card, meaning it is a debit that can be used anywhere visa is accepted (ie; online purchases, states, etc)
Can I put that down as my payment option?

I know I SHOULD be able to, has anyone done it succesfully?

I have one too.

IIRC purchases made in Canada have to be done as a debit transaction.

Outside the country you would select Visa, even though the money would be coming directly from your account.

Have you called the CFC to ask them?

That's an interesting question. I've not heard of anyone using one so far, so I'm interested in seeing how it works.

Shouldn't take too long to call them and ask how/if it will work, either the CFC or your bank should be able to tell you.

I used a prepaid MasterCard for my PAL and RPAL so I would say yes.

Pre paid MasterCard is still a credit card.

The reason you are able to use the, in my case CIBC debit/Visa card outside Canada is because they have a deal with Visa to use their processing network.

Even though you tell the person you are paying by "Visa" it is actually still a debit transaction.

I've tried using mine a couple times online and for one over the phone purchase in Canada and it is always denied. It does work for online shopping from the US and UK.

No Credit = No car, no house, no guns....

Getting a credit card is not a bad thing, because it helps you to build your credit and then you can start buying more stuff and eventually you will have a basement full of stuff.

Get CapitalOne, because of the 0% interest on all purchases or Alterna Mastercard, because of the car rental coverage, remember to read the fine line, because they are tricky and hard to understand sometimes.

I have no credit cards

I have a house, I have a car, I have guns (maybe not as many as I want).

it doesn't matter, people can do whatever the f**k they wanna do, they're choice. you wanna max out your 10,000 credit card on guns and toys, hey do your thang!
