Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56

I have the SFP model. I like it a lot.
My criticism would be it's a tad heavy and I don't really need the illuminated reticle. Also the adjustments are a bit mushy
Over all it's a good scope. I like the reticle

I don't have one but I would like one! 31 MRAD in the elevation! WOW. This thing is designed for PRS. With an MOA rail that bottoms this thing out, even with .22 that gets you out to 500 yards with hold over in the reticle. EBR-7C is awesome too..

Right the 5-25 is FFP. If you run a large cant rail, like mentioned above, you can ignore the zero stop and gain full elevation. I have pulled back from this model at the moment as when I was looking at it in store I compared it to the PST2, but the illumination was already broken on the PST2. Come on Vortex, make your stuff reliable already.

Bought one with a EGW 40moa rail from Bullseye North. Just got the MDT premier rings in the mail this week, I actually like it better then my Viper PST gen 2.

turrets very mushy would not buy again

Take it back! The turrets on mine don't feel mushy. I will say the glass is better on the PST 5-25 but the Strike Eagle to me is a rimfire NRL22 scope so you don't need as high end of glass to see 300-400 max. With the 40MOA rail I don't need a zero stop, and I have over 24MRAD of travel.

I’ve got the older version (4-24x40) and am almost looking forward to it failing somehow as I believe the replacement would be the 5-25, but it’s heavier and a 5x range instead of a 6x plus the min 4 Power magnification is probably a bit more acceptable for hunting. Would like a zero stop and locking turrets but I’ll get over it.

Mine has been great so far and as stated above, a big step up from the Diamondback. Lots of guys using them in the Rimfire precision series as well.

I've been considering getting a Vortex Strike Eagle for my 22 PRS gun as well. I have a Diamondback Tactical and the glass is just so much less than I consider acceptable.

Curious how other similar scopes in a similar price range might compare.

This thread woke right up. Now that more people have one, it will be interesting to see how durable these are. I bought a Athlon Ares BTR gen 2 instead. It has been a great tracker, the only thing I notice about it, is the sensitive eye box so far.

I would rate the 5-25 'Strike Eagle' as a chinese made Razor 'body/features' with 'Diamondback' glass... great for .22 out to 300 or more! I'm not sure how the glass would work further then 3-400, the glass is for sure better on the Gen2 PST 5-25. I have both, I'm using the strike eagle with a 40moa rail and us the bottom of the dial as the 'zero stop'... I'll keep slamming it down there 1/4 turn and back up and see how it goes.

I really like the EBR-7C reticle in FFP, center target dot is nice...

Been looking at reviews on the strike eagle and pst2 for the last 2 weeks and cannot make up my mind. Will be for 22 prs.
Either of the 2 will also be used for center fire until ive saved up for a razor.
