Just wanted to say how happy I am with the vortex warranty. I had a gen 1 SPARC which would no longer shut off by holding the power button.
I sent it to vortex Canada on the 19th of September and received notice today that it could not be fixed and is being replaced with the latest SPARC which is on its way.
I have no affiliation with vortex, it's just nice to get outstanding customer service these days.

CGN is full of Vortex stories. The two facts that distill out are:
- they have one of the best warranties out there, and
- far too many people have to use that warranty.

However, even if you gave me a good piece of glass, and told me you'd replace it every year, that's still a decent deal... Minus being without the scope for a while.

wow ...that's what you called first class customer service !

Pretty much sums it up, although, I wouldn't be thinking the warranty is great if I'm a 100 miles from the nearest post office on a trip I do only once a year.

This ^^^^

Glad to hear they're replacing your failed optic OP. But it sure sounds like a lot of Vortex owners have to use the warranty......

Can't help but think, ;)

I have lots of Vortex stuff and am extremely happy with the quality. Just the other day, I was out hunting and noticed my Razor binos kept losing focus if they were inverted. I suspect a loose focus track or lense. Will send them away at the end of hunting season and I have no doubts that they will fix them up to my satisfaction.

In my experience (selling hundreds of Vortex scopes), there is a fairly low return rate for factory defects. I've seen a few reticules come loose, and a few crushed scope tubes (user error). There are a lot of these sold every year, and for a good reason.

Had it back to me within a week of shipping it out. The products are great, maybe the durability is lacking, but it is very comforting to have such a painless warranty. Whereas you go with another brand that is supposed to be super durable and run into issues, then the warranty is a headache and months long. Idk, i'd recommend vortex 100%. Good to deal with.

I used to own a PST 2.5-10x32 FFP, really good scope but the zoom ring was very tight, didn't loosen up with use. It was an internet buy from a site sponsor, didn't get to try it out in store first. Contacted Vortex, they said the zoom ring needed grease and that could only be done under warranty by sending it in.

I sent it in and they fixed it no problem. 7 days turnaround too, amazing. Am I happy they fixed It? Sure. Am I happy that I had to pay for shipping and insurance to get it fixed? Not quite as much. If it was a fatal flaw to the scope sure, no problem. But in this case I had to pay to get something fixed that should have never needed to be fixed. Not so great. The scope should never have left the factory that way.

If they were serious about their warranty they should cover shipping and insurance both ways. Like others have said, great warranty, too many reports of people using it.

I just bought my 5th Vortex scope this morning. To all other scope manufacturers take note. The warranty Vortex has, is why I bought them again this morning and will continue to buy Vortex. Have never need to use the warranty yet.

I've got only 2 vortex scopes, one of them top of the line, and one pretty high up in their line. Both are excellent.

But I've got half a dozen of their red dot type scopes, including Sparc, Strikefire and Spitfire. And just recently Venom. The Sparcs are what I have most experience with, they are mounted on 2 of my AR15's. The volume of fire and the rough treatment they see far surpasses what most users will encounter. In the last year they have over 10 000 rounds on each, bashed around in transport and use and they are going strong.

Not to say Vortex won't have lemons or things won't break, all optic companies do. I've sent for repair several Leupolds, 2 Bushnell, 1 Swarovski, 1 Leica and maybe a few others. Some cheaper brands I've just tossed. I've also got a middle of the road Burris scope that has soaked up over 15 000 rounds and no problem.

It's not all black and white in the optics world. I probably would never buy a low end Vortex scope, but I don't think I would have an issue taking one of their better quality scopes on a 14 day backcountry hunt, either. I also wouldn't buy a low end Leupold, after seeing some issues with them on friends rifles. Longshot set a Canadian record with a Vortex scope...

Many companies have various grades of optics, including Vortex. Hard to judge them on the performance of their low end models, really. YMMV
