Stop and think about it for a moment.
A no questions asked replacement warranty has nothing to do with product quality. All it means is that the company has budgeted to write off a percentage of its product. It means that the product isn't worth repairing.

As a consumer it is re-assuring when a manufacturer offers a great warranty, however this does not excuse a mediocre product.
Seems there has been alot of issues with Vortex's product line and this thread validates the rumors of breakages/failures. Warranty won't mean sh!t when your optic fails you at the most inopportune moment on a highcountry sheep hunt/whatever.
Personally I'll go without, and save the additional money necessary to buy a quality established optic rather than save a couple hundred bucks and essentially own crap.
No offence intended, just my 2 cents having been there before.

Good call. When you buy a pst, you are paying close to $1000 for a $300 scope with an expensive warranty plan.
Please show me this $300 scope with FFP, illuminated reticle, and glass that rivals a Sightron SIII, oh, and 6-24x50.
Thanks.

I`m sorry but the vortex glass or overall quality doesn`t rival that of an s3. I think NC Star, Millet, and maybe even Falcon would be a more apples to apples comparison for the pst.

Dude - give me a break. NCStar compared to Vortex Viper glass? It's painfully obvious you've held neither in your hands, or you wouldn't make such ridiculous statements.
Look - i'm no glass snob... I own Leupold, Leica, Nightforce, Trijicon, Vortex, Bushnell, Mueller... and if you think Vortex viper glass (not their other lower end models) are like Millet and Falcon, you're dreaming.
My only 'issue' with the 4 Vortex products I own (and have used extensively) has been a loose battery connection in the Razor 1-4x. I sent it in, and they shipped me a new scope. One minor issue, and they corrected it quickly. I still fail to see how people (most of whom have never even touched a Vortex product, by their own admission) view Vortex in a negative light.
Regardless... to each his own... I enjoy my Vortex products, and think they provide excellent bang for the buck in ALL their product lines.
Actually I own a 6-24 pst, which I purchased at wss for 20% off. It has been replaced three times and sits on a savage rimfire.
is that your opinion of Leupold too? i dont think unlimited warranty means poor product at all...
I agree. It also means though, that they know their scope failure rate will be low enough to keep in business. Most places run 1%.
BUT it could also mean that the mark up is high enough that they can cover a large number, say 5% of failures.![]()
