Vudoo Rifle

thought the diamond went down to 4 ounces,

16 sounds high mine in a benchgun is 3.5 ounces and it has never failed

It does go down to 4 ounces but how low it goes is dependant on the individual gun and the spring pressure. Mine adjusted to the lowest setting would discharge upon closing the bolt. If closed very lightly and carefully it would hold but break if you even tapped on the barrel lightly. At six ounces if you barely bumped the but on the floor it would fire. One of my Diamonds is in my Vudoo that I use for PRS shooting so when I adjust the trigger I strike the rear of the bolt rather aggressively for safety reasons. I use a small wooden bodied counter broom. In a bench gun you wouldn't have to worry cuz ur loading and firing from ur bag and rest and the guns down range when being loaded. I have tested guns of my friends and really opened some eyes when I test and their guns fire when being lightly struck on the back of the bolt. In my centerfire gun the Diamond is fine. Many custom triggers have different springs for this reason. They are a fantastic trigger that break the same every time and seem much lighter than the actual gauge weight. I think it actually refrences this in the instructions that the lower limits may not be reached in all firearms.

Could the Triggertech Diamond be used at the lowest settings with springs as well. If so they should also come with extra springs for the money.

SK rifle match and standard plus are the same ammo, but match comes off the same line, at higher tighter tolerances. When the dies start to wear and the Match falls out of spec then it becomes Standard Plus and then SK magazine. Lapua is the same as Exact comes off the line first with new dies and then Midas plus and then CenterX. Only difference is the Exact may only produce two cases and then six Midas plus and finally ten Center X. These are hypothetical numbers just to give an idea on how it works. Glenn is correct in asking why on the price your paying. I buy ammo by the case and get the following from Asmir at Tesro, Standard plus is $65.19 per brick,Rifle Match is $78.49 per brick, Long Range Match is $84.50 per brick, Magazine is $59.75 per tube of 500, and Flatnose Match is $79.40 per brick. These are prices for a case which is ten bricks or 5,000 rounds and isn't including tax. What I do is get all of my shooting buddies together and we collectively buy a large amount at one time. Im a bit of a hoarder and always have at least 25,000 or more on hand at any time. If my ammo gets lower than that I start to panic and buy more. I know I have issues haha. I love guns and theyre just a steel club without food. Im sure if you get a few of your buddies together to buy a case and ship it, youll be way ahead of $11.00 a box. If you do decide to sell the Vudoo let me know cuz I have a few buddies that are into getting a high quality bolt gun. I hope ur well and the kids are prospering. Chris

9.99 plus tax. That’s the price of it in my hometown here in manitoba. Little insane

The cost is much less if you order ammo from an online dealer. By the case it's a little over $8 per box -- including taxes and shipping. Of course if you're not shooting much the price shouldn't matter much anyway.

Back to the vudoo. I'm curious about the soon-to-be released Vudoo benchrest rifle. It's single shot, left loading, with a tighter chamber than the repeater.

I am not running the Trigger Tech triggers down in any way. I own a couple and they are frankly fantastic. One of the reasons some custom gun builders install them as standard. Also used by the military in certain guns so they are durable and extremely well built. Standard issue in my PGW COYOTE. I just know that some custom triggers can be had with springs specific for certain actions. They are also more money than TT triggers.

Well I will let you know once mine arrives in Canada! If your nice Grauhannen I will allow you to shoot it.

Good info.

I got no buddies lol...and next to no opportunities to go out shooting. I’d be splitting the cost with myself haha... 25,000 rounds is insane wow is pretty sure I’ll get rid of the v22. I like it so much tho, I wish it accepted cci ammo too just to keep cost of plinking down. Thanks friend, I hope your well too

Rim thickness of the ammo is too thick to close bolt. Inconsistent ammo. The chamber is made to very tight tolerances only allowing the use of match ammo and sk ammo that’s made to a more consistent level

I will check what the cost to ship from my location to winkler would be. I don't think it will be that bad. Maybe ill make up a sample pack for you to try and just send it to you!! Send me ur address and you never know what the mail might drop off. I think youll regret selling ur rifle.

It's not so much the rim thickness but the design of the driving band on CCI SV ammo. In match chambers, even chambers in Anschutz repeaters, CCI SV ammo often makes it hard to close the bolt.

Wow that’s very kind of you but you don’t have to send me any ammo. Yeah I don’t know...I’m sure if I got out and used it I would enjoy it a lot

Beautiful setup that I’m sure you’ll really enjoy. Be careful when adjusting your Diamond trigger. Mine would not pass the bump test when set at the lower end. It had to be heavier than 16 ounces or it would fire when struck with a wooden counter broom. I’m sure you test when adjusting but just a reminder! Good luck with the new rig. Chris

I run mine at 6 ounces. No problem whatsoever.

I agree. Was getting hard clambering in my CZ457MTR w the CCI SV. After a few rounds I stopped using it. Shot ok, but SK and Lapua brands are much better in my case. The rifle does have a true match chamber since the other bullets are all engraved a bit. Makes for a good shooter. But I think I still need a Vudoo anyways.

That 457 looks like a great option but either way there’s something about the v22 that sets it apart I think. I think for me it has a lot to do with the receiver, being that it’s a lot like my custom 700 actions and takes the diamond trigger. Makes for a very nice piece of art
