Vz 24

A solution..."tradsies"

My Father had a scope mounted and, the handle bent in the very early 60's...Call him a "bubba" if you want. less than 20 years after "the" war, 1000's were done. You can see a bit of the crest sticking out from under the scope mount.

Henstold Wetzlar currently mounted...

I'm sure you all know but, it's the bottom rifle.

I would prefer a complete one.

My brother has an all-mixed-up worn-off crest model, it's in the "very good" shape though.

Very, very silky smooth action. A brand-new Savage was like fingernails on chalkboard relatively!

To scope it you need to bend the straight bolt in addition to adding rings, for your information. I still haven't found a Canadian source for a bent bolt or even a straight one to chop and kit, apparently all large pattern Mauser bolts work though. PM me if you got one!

PM me if your brother want to sell it.

As far as the bent bolt is concern, i was planing on using my K98 bolt with it until i found a K98 bolt body to trade the stuff from one bolt to the other.

Funny, I was just thinking about the Vz 24 a couple days ago hoping someone would post.

Let's see more pics of various receiver markings and stamps, unit discs, close ups of bands, floor plates, etc. I would especially like to see where the Czechs serialed the rifles - my understanding is that there are not supposed to be that many matching numbers as compared with German rifles.

Also a G24(t) recently sold at Epps. Would be nice to see some pics of one for comparison.

I have a 1937 VZ-24 with the crest rubbed off and the same markings stamped all over it. (a circle with a "N" or "Z" in it) I don't know what that mark means, but the rifle feels better than my RC K98. I have it forsale actually. Email me for pics if you would like to see it because I can't stand the system of how to post pics on this site. Sorry

The crest rubber of is a sign that you have a vz 24 romanian contract, the crest was the symbol of royal family of romania and the rusky rubbed off.

Here are a few pics of my rare Guatemalan VZ 24. It isn't in the best condition but
amazingly the bore and chamber are bright and shiny. It still shoots very well.

Here is my Czech VZ32 (top), Peruvian contract in 7.65. Note it is a small ring mauser like the VZ16/33 and later G33/40. On these contract rifles the Peruvians specified that the safety work in the opposite direction to all other Mausers. Off topic, but the lower is an FN contract Peruvian 1935 carbine with similar reversed safety.

I have a VZ 24 that had already been devalued when I bought it: Re barreled, re stocked, chambered for 300 Win.
Nice stock, hand checkered 16 lines to the inch, and the action is minty. According to the serial number it was manufactured in the Brno factory circa 1942.
I'm not a fan of the original trigger for hunting and general fun shooting, so one of these days I may look at an after market trigger even though the present one has had enough work done to clean up the pull weight to a considerable degree. What the heck...a new trigger can't devalue it any more.:)

Do you guys think it is worth $399?

To clarify, I mean the ones currently for sale from Trade Ex
