VZ 58 Muzzle Devices [PIC HEAVY]

^^If it works for you that's great. If you've carried rifles in your employment you have much more experience with them than I. Can I ask what period of time you did most of your training on those platforms (80's, 90's, 2000's)?

I've tried both methods and for me the magwell hold is not the best solution for any off hand dynamic shooting.

But make sure you do your own testing. But be fair about it and time your results and measure your hits.

Also, check out any current top tier trainers of carbine applications and see what method they use. Check out names like Larry Vickers, Kyle Defoor, Jason Falla, Chris Costa.

I have tried different positions. I could also give you a list as impressive (maybe less well known) of guys I have trained with and have been trained by. With regards to my training and experience, the time frame was mid 90s to 2007, so it is relevant. I am not really interested in a debate I just wanted to comment on something that I experienced as inaccurate.
There are tactics and techniques that are proven to increase precision and speed (i.e. orientation and position of spare mags, trigger reset, etc) that are pretty much universal. However, there are also techniques that are personal; differences in creating and maintaining a stable shooting platform is one of them.

If you are talking about the same guy,
he has FIRST to learn how to hold a rifle,
before posting videos on youtube.
There is no way to hold a rifle that long by the mag
and after that complain about getting smacked in the face
(I don't care who he is on CGN).
No wonder he's geting smacked (some people
might argue that he even deserves it).

.

Well you helped me decide that i will never buy any of your products again, helps that you have ignored my last 4 attempts to do business with you...sheesh,

However, the comp in those pics
is not really correct on a 1976 non-Izhmash AK
(in fact, it seems to me that almost the whole gun
in the pics quoted by you is made of disparate pieces).

Where numbers are present, they match the receiver and they do not appear to be over stamped or replaced.

First, I do not remember any of your attempts to do "business" with me.
I never ignored anybody's attempts to communicate with me.

If your attempts were PM's on this site, I remember that
some things happened with my PM box about 1-2 yrs. ago and
at that time I lost a lot of messages without even reading them.
Some people here are still mad at me even today after all that time
because it appeared that I ignored them, which I didn't.
But in normal conditions I answer to ALL my pm's,
even if it is to tell them that I do not conduct "business" on CGN
and I give them my private contact info.
Are you sure you don't confuse me with somebody else?

Second, how will you know which ones are my products?
They are never marked with my name, but with the names of
their respective sellers or distributors.
Yeah, and 5 bux sez that you can't even point at 10 of them.

But don't worry, I get the idea in your post.
Thanks for your thoughts.
:)

It appeared to me that the 3-digit number
on the inner piece of the selector (505 ?)
did not match the last 3 digits of serial on the receiver.
But maybe I am wrong, as the serial on the receiver
is not very visibly clear on my monitor.

However, even if it was off topic, I should have pointed
that the general look and patina are superb on your gun.
A classic Cold War relic.
If it was mine, I would not change anything on it.

Do you have any stampings other than the manufacturer's??

I wanted to get the military brake but frankly the recoil from this rifle is pretty marginal with the 18.5" barrel. I would probably get one for the short barreled versions or if I was competing, but with the longer barrel version my follow up shots are pretty good and recoil isn't bad at all.

I actually don't use a magwell hold on the CZ858 since it's the actual mag you'd be holding onto. Probably not an issue but it seems like a bad idea. With the AR you're using the magwell which is part of the lower receiver so it doesn't affect the mag fit, or induce any sort of feeding problems.

I also don't want to really get into the whole mag hold/vs Magpul fire hose stuff again. But one thing with those internet tests. They don't include mag changes. I would be surprised if the times weren't better using the magwell hold at close range when including mag changes. Just something to consider.

The slant AKM break sucks on the VZ ... it changes the POI by over a 10 inches high left at 100m! and gives you nasty sideways recoil to the cheek ... complete waste of money , every other break ive tried had no change of POI .. I like the factory CZ break ..

Tried ordering a m14 gas lock sight about 2 years ago, tried ordering a m14 adjustable gas lock about 3 months ago, inquired about a mini moose and CZ hand guard set 6 months ago, no replies to my emails sent to your business...
I have had better service from moregunsupply...that's rough

Dr.Lector has a buisness!?! Or were you thinking about Clobbersauras seceret manufactoring layor?
Laugh2
Maybe in the mall next door to the ninja store.
:p
All dissing aside. Dr.Lector doesn't have a company. He is just like the rest of us on here. Except for the fact he does & has played with a lot of cool toys and knows a thing or 2 about gunsmithing.

I wish I had a lair. Sumpin like Batman's cave or Superman's fortress of solitude, but filled with machine shop equipment that I actually knew how to use.:) S**t, all I have is a garage with a small work bench. I haven't even set up the drill press I bought 7 months ago....

P.S. Matty69Suck, you are wrong about Dr. Lector.

I don't know why Lector puts up with this place, but I'm glad he does. If people just read and try to understand what he posts they might actually learn sumpin'.

Hey don't worry. I thought the same thing too. Tell I talk to Dlask and he asked me if I was off my medication again. Cause he had no idea what the b-jebus I was talking about.

P.S. Red Rifles RULE!!! Cause we don't pretend to be :ninja:'s!

The last four digits of the serial number a 2505 but I had another look and the gas tube and recoil spring guide don't match after all.

As for other markings, it's pretty clean just a star, 1976 **2505

Then I was wrong and I appologize.
The receiver serial # that I have seeen on my monitor
did not look like the same number as on the selector.
Great looking gun. Thanks for sharing.

Don't worry.
It happened quite a few times
that people believed I was Dlask.

So, matty, I have asked Clobbersauras to make sumpin for you
so you'll be happier.
He made this muzzlebrake/compensator for you.
He sez it will kinda compensate for your small ####.
Let us know if it works.
