Hey norsemen....do your mags kinda fit tight because of the paint too? and does your blt carrier rub against the receiver and wear a little of the paint off?

Yes a little, but they are new. My 858 was like that too. the mags will wear in after awhile. The bolt carrier is supposed to rub against the reciever Just don't worry, have fun with it.

Here is the deal:
What I want in a gun:
a) Something light and small
b) something with minimal recoil
c) Something I can throw in the dirt or get blood (animal) on
d)something legal to hunt with and has decent stopping power
e) tactical looking and semi auto....
f) something I can shoot accurately ( as accurate as amatuer can be)
this being said the CZ 858 fits all this (i think). I am not sure bout the accuracy; I met one guy has a scope he side mounted and would do same for me for $300 but i said no. He gets accuracy at 500 yards. I think thats great but I wont be shooting that far unless a war breaks out and if that happens i hope i dont need long shots cuz i cant shoot well...give me my bow lol.

Seriously though when i have done stalk changes on sks I have difficulty cuz I know little about guns and want to know more and am learning on my own. I would like to get CZ858 (a spare one) and dress it up. I dressed up my sks but its front heavy and awkward to carry in comparison to the CZ.

Perhaps there are other tactical firearms that are legal to hunt with that would better suit my list above. anyone know of 1?

M305 rifles (M14 semis) have the accuracy and power, can be dressed up, but have recoil.

The AR15 is a better rifle than the VZ58 by far.

So, I re-read...what I do not even know is if that AR 15's are prohibited or not?......anyways I missed the joke yes I get that hahaha, but I still do not know what tactical type guns I could hunt with which are similar to size and weight of the CZ since they are so comfy to shoot.

The AR-15 is restricted to shooting ranges. There was a time in that was not true. 6mm ARs were used for hunting, however, each province tells which cartridge can be used for hunting. And for what type of game. Too many answers.

So I am thinking to dress up a CZ is my best bet if I wanna hunt with a tactical rifle. I could be an animals worst nightmare......I like the looks and I do not know anything about inner workings and mechanisms .......but i do like CZ although I would like new sights to explore its performance further

There are limitations to any cartridge and bullet construction. For one, the common Full Metal Jacket bullets cannot be used on game. The 58's cartridge would be a 'deer' cartridge in certain loadings.

The legal and ethical parameters of hunting far outweigh what a rifle looks like. I recommend a bolt action 30-06 as a starting hunting rifle. These are all covered in a hunters course.

Post a picture of your rifle, and take things slow. Do lots of reading.
