VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

I like that little barrel mount. Where did you get it, how much? How does that stock bolt on?

the barrel mount is a prototype (no cost on it yet)...I had it at the poco range yesterday ....worked awesome almost no muzzle movement. :)

Stock bolts on the same way as the standard fixed stock.

I like the little rail thing in front of gas port if it is affordable. Something for a flashlight I'm not likely to need (given range hours).

They are around 45 bucks ......questar has them

Thanks for the pictures, links and vids, guys.

Traskj, is that an ak pistol grip? Where did you get it from? Adaptor included? How much? It gives the most righteous look to your gun :D ...

Palinak, what is the attachment at the muzzle of your barrel? Recoil reducer, compensator, flash hider, all of the above? Looks very very cool  .

Thanks :)

Does anyone know the approximate price of B&T VZ58/CZ858 Tactical Handguard? Questa's the one who can bring these in, or is there other source for B&T products?

Wolverine Supplies can also get these in, however they are apparently very expensive. (relative to the price of the rifle)

I love the rail but how feasable is it for maintenance? I mean do you constantly need to unscrew the top cover to clean the gas piston and will it keep zero?

Any feedback or clarification will be appreciated :D

Infretek's rail is reinforced polymer, right? How does it stand up to abuse? B&T one is made of Aluminum if I remember correctly, and I just thought that metal is probably better out in the woods than polymer. But if the polymer has no problem, in comparison to metal one, than, why not?

Both the BT hand-guard or the one from my website have the same mounting principle. The top piece attaches to the bottom piece. Once the bottom piece is installed with the rear set nut properly tightened the bottom piece will not move, twist or anything. The four set screws that attach the top to the bottom are exact therefore it always attaches in the same position. And yes you do have to unscrew 4 screws to clean the gas piston ;)

What kind of abuse are we talking about?….throwing it against the ground or driving a tank over it :D ….just kidding. They are very durable, light and with the aluminum rail upgrades you can truly sleep in the woods with ease.

One great thing about the removable rails It’s allowing me to design a higher longer rail that can bolt in the top rails place, snug the rear sight post and span far enough back to allow for a longer scope, with proper integrated shell deflector of course.

It's a new all of the above. Works great, was testing it on sunday and comapring it to the other available long brake..... This one trully minimized recoil and muzzle rise.
