VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

    Votes: 1,507 70.4%
  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

    Votes: 407 19.0%
  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

    Votes: 166 7.7%
  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

I love VZ/CZ too. In fact, I love all sorts of Eastern Bloc weapons, almost obsessive. Never understood why. AKs, SKS, Mosin-Nagant, APS-95, VEPR, etc...

BWAHAHAHAHAHA:)
I'm sorry, man, I didn't realize I was such a pest:D :D :dancingbanana:
I only rattle yor chain, now and then, to make sure you stay focused:p
You (and maybe a couple of others) did all the hard research work for most of the info and the pics in this excellent thread, I admit it and I respect that:)
You are my hero, you know...

are wicked fun to play with, and handle like an AK, we're very lucky to have them; buy one.

That is so true. We are so lucky to have them!

Because they are so real, so righteous, so cool, that’s why, at least for me. They don’t speak nonsense like some other guns, they are designed and made well, they are reliable and robust.

I believe gun owners don’t really understand how lucky we are to have them.

I’m sure a lot of you heard gun enthusiasts (from my age bracket or older) remembering that some years ago, in such and such stores in Canada, they had so cool SA guns (FN, Dragunov, Valmet, AUG, etc.) for so little $ and some of them feel sorry they didn’t buy at least a couple…

I hope we won’t be remembering the VZ in the same way.
But enjoy it now! :dancingbanana:
The plague of liberalist ideas and the paranoia is growing... :(

X2

Mother Russia's weapons just have a certain allure for me that others don't.

Yeah, well, you had to spoon feed this one, because the info in the first post was too confusing for me. I recognized the Bren allure, but what puzzled me was the reference to the “new caliber”. I didn’t know about any Bren in 7.62x39.
Interesting idea. I’m not sure about flipping the receiver upside down. The firing control has to be remote operated by pushing rod(s) or such, and if it comes to that, I would do a replica to the bullpup you posted some 15-20 pages ago, rather than a Bren. Not to mention that it has to have no resemblance whatsoever and no reference to be made, since the Bren is prohib by name.
You know, on another subject, I’m afraid that soon I’ll have to consider myself lucky to be allowed to keep bolts and pumps and air (<500fps) and slingshots and archery. What stupid times we are living… PHUCK !!!

I'm pretty confident the Bren was not named in C-68. A repackaged 26 could make it in the same way as the new Browning 1919s. Yes 60,000 views, NO sticky, and a piece of #### biased poll. I prefer my original one. Which mod exactly is messing with us?

Soon to come: 60,000 views , probably in the first hours of Sept 18, 2006. That's something!

So what is the reason this thread hasn't been stickied? I see people ask for it alot, is the vz's not liked by the mods or something?

Let's say the mods are busy with organizing the firearms community right now.

Deckard, since you started the thread, I was under the impression that you are able to modify that poll. Are you not?

Yeah, I reviewed the list of prohibs this morning, Bren is not in there. For some reason, I thought it was, probably because all of them I've seen in Canada were dewats. I'll search further....

Edit to add: Well, some people find it hard to swallow the fact that eastern block military guns enjoy a huge popularity for a variety of reasons (see the hatred posts regarding SKS, AK and others on this board).
