Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

Man, I knew you guys would do this to me- Now I need to get a VZ58! I suppose I can wait a week for the CZ858 reviews, but I don't want to start any arguing here about their release date so pretend I didn't say that last part.

There you go.. I have nickled the brake. and put a folder on and repainted the mags black.
 
thats so sweet how that plastic looks like it has wood chips. I WISH I owned one of those.

I hope you guys all replace those crappy stocks... with some real wood furniture- I think Throttle monkey offered to slave in his garage for endless hours sanding some quality wood stocks - I'd love to laugh at him for offering such a request - some one should take him up on it - probably works out to 2 pesos an hour!

FWIW the "crappy plastic" stocks aren't plastic - they are resin impregnated hardwood chip composite. Very sturdy and an ideal material for this weapon. WAY more durable and way less sensitive to the elements than the early beechwood stocks were ;)

Gee look at what I missed while away....

I have to agree with Thamok, unless one has used and abused the various rifles in question, then all one can offer is an "opinion".

Even the the AK-47s produced by various countries around the world will differ in performance, quality and endurance,,,, As an example, compare the AKs made in Poland, Yugoslavia with those made in the Middel East or China, major differences....Try them out Hitzy, conduct your own tests, you will come to the same conclusions.

Hitzy, unless you have had the opportunity to have used and depended on a combat rifle in a hostile environment I don't think you can offer a defenitive opinion on the subject.

Now can we get back to some serious subjects ???????????
